I wouldnt worry about it. Youre almost to the end. Congrats
Alright thank you . I had a 3D ultrasound done today & the ultrasound tech said my son moves alot :) and that my fluids were good .
I have been going every friday for close to two months now. You lay in a bed and they strap two moniters to your belly. One tracks babys heart rate and the other tracks contractions. They give you a button to press every time you feel your baby move. Their heart rate is expected to rise at least 15 beats for every big movement. You stay monitered for about 20 minutes then they take you off. Ive also been having bpps with mine every week and that is an ultrasound to check if baby is practicing breathing and has so many different types of movements. It also measures fluid levels. As long as baby looks good they wont induce. They try not to before 38-39 weeks unless your baby is in danger. Its an easy test. Eat before you go to help baby move. They will ask you if you did eat because it stimulates movements and lessens the time you have to be monitered. If all is well you go home.
How do they measure contractions on the stress test monitor ?
It does not mean anything is wrong, they just want to cover all the bases. I had three with my first, because I was overdue. It's not like the gd test in that you cannot 'fail', but if they are concerned for baby based on the results, they may induce early.
And I've had a healthy pregnancy , blood pressure has always been good , blood work has always been good , pelvic exam , no infections or anything . I came back positive for being a carrier of cystic fibrosis but im only a carrier. They said nothing major. The baby is perfectly healthy. But my doctor said he would probably take after my birth weight . I weighed 5 lb 4 oz. But my mom was induced with me bc the stress test
No they just said he is a little small for 35 weeks.
The worse they can tell you is they have to deliver sooner than planned and if you've been having a healthy pregnancy then that would be unlikely. Do your research and Google stress tests during pregnancy so you know to ask the right questions and so you won't go into this procedure in the dark.
During pregnancy they give you a non stress test and they only do so if they have probably cause that something is wrong with your health our the baby's. Do you have any medical issues like diabetes or something?
The nst is really to make sure baby is doing well. Long as your having movements during the test you wont fail. They will also measure your contractions. If they feel you have at risk they may induce early but its pretty doubtful that early less baby/mother is at a big risk.
