taking zofron while pregnant

My ob gave me zofron to control my severe morningsickness and now Im hearing on the news and from other people it gives the baby birth defects.  I asked my ob and she said no but Im still worried about taking it. What can I do to control my morning sickness? I will be 9 weeks on Monday.

Some doctors think that it causes cleft lip and pallet. I was in the ER and the doctors and nurses warned me against it.

Thanks everyone. I have the 4mg zofron its one every 6-8 hrs. If I like tea I would do that but it makes me sick still

Those zoferan lawsuits are just lawyers trying to drum up a lawsuit on a technicality with no real evidence or research. It's safe. I took it for my severe nausea and I believe it saved my pregnancy.

I was on Zofran right up until 28 weeks roughly best thing ever I'm only on one medication now (diclectin) if you have the 8mg pills you can take half if it's not super bad. Hope you feel better soon!

Just dont take anything.make yourself some ginger tea with lemon it will help you.i allways go for somethin natural .dont like taking any medication..wish you all the best :)

I am now 16 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my 4th and I have no symptoms at all except wanting to eat alot. I wouldnt even know I was pregnant if I wasnt showing. I never got morning sickness with this one.

Yeah you are probably having a boy. My first 2 were girls and it wasnt that bad. With my 3rd it was horrible and he was a boy.

I Have heard its a boy too because of how bad it is compare to my last ones

This is my third pregnancy and my other two were no where near this bad for morning sickness. I have two girls already so everyone said this one will be a boy since I've been so sick but nope, we are having a third girl so I don't think the sex of the baby has anything to do with it.

No with my last two pregnancies it never got bad enough like this where I had to take anything.this is by far the worse yet. It went away for a few days and came back today

Thank you for the reassurance.the one they gave me is every 6-8 hours. I feel so weak from the morning sickness. I never had it this bad with my last two.

Zofran is the one that works the best for morning sickness.  In my opinion you won't find anything better and it's safe to use in pregnancy.
