I am terrified

I am maybe just looking for a little reassurance. I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder when I was 21 (9 years ago) and I've been on medications not recommended during pregnancy. I was taking the birth control you are only supposed to have 1 mp/3 mos, so I wasn't expecting it until the 2nd wk in Sept. When It never came I discovered I was pregnant and scheduled an appt with my Dr. The minute I found out, I stopped taking all medications. When I went to the Dr, she said I was 6+ weeks and that I had to be weaned off the one medicine that (from everything I've read online) was the worst.

I'm just so afraid. I've read as much as I could and I've not really found anything reassuring. I'm not much of a blog poster- but I'm going nuts. Has anybody else bean through this. I didn't intend to become pregnant, but I am ecstatic I am. My fiance and I are so ready and I just want to have a healthy baby and a safe pregnancy.

I was taking Lamictal, Trileptal daily and clinadine or trazodone a couple times a week.

Thanks for any response.

I ended up weaning off the one. I finally finished it last week. I am listening to my Dr's orders to the letter. I'm just still afraid. The days are counting by so slow... I'm just anxious about it. For now, I wait.

Thanks for your responses. I appreciate you.

I don't have any experience with this. I would just do exactly what she says. Quiting the meds cold turky could put your body in shock. She knows what she's doing.  Everything will c work out you'll see. Good luck! I'll pray for you!

I don't really know what to say but I'm hoping the best for you. I was taking tetracycline religiously and took amphetamines regularly before I decided to keep them *6 weeks). My family Dr said it should be fine. Just see the ObGyn and hear what they have to say
