Gross but worried

I'm 17 years old and currently 29 weeks and 3 days pregnant. For the past 4-5 days I've been going to the toilet alot and everytime I go, I have to poop but only the smallest bit comes out and then I'm left with such a sore butthole(sorry this is gross). It gets so unfomfortable that I'll have to go to the toilet 20 minutes later and poop again with only the smallest bit coming out.
Is this normal or should I contact my midwife?!

I wasn't sure if it was just constipation because I've heard that this could be a sign of my body getting ready for labour days later. I'm just freaking out at every little thing like usual though :P

It's called constipation.... ask your midwife for a stool softener that's safe for you to take. It's normal.

I might ask my midwife for something to ease it because if I don't go to the toilet I get cramps in my lower stomach. Thanks ladies  :)

I had the same issue starting at around 32 weeks, I'm now 36 and it only got better because I have to take stool softeners
