I have the same problem. I have been wearing wrist braces while sleeping to keep my wrists and hands straight. It has helped.
I had cts before my pregnancy but it got much worse since I got pregnant. The Dr said that I could get cortisone shots, but I have been dealing with it without getting the shots. My cpt actually starts in my shoulders and shoots down my arms. You can get a script from your Dr for good braces from a medical supply store, they well fit you properly for them. You will still need them for a few weeks after delivery. If you are going to breast feed you will absolutely need them. I forgot to take mine to the hospital after I had my son and I could barely hold him close to me without the burning numbness which made breast feeding nearly impossible without help. Ice helps reduce some of the swelling and there are exercises that you can do to help open up the area to promote proper blood flow.
I have CT prior to pregnancy, sleeping with wrist braces is the best thing to help with it. Just feel lucky yours is from the pregnancy and you won't end up having surgery to correct it.
Its carpel tunnel from the swelling. Honestly there's not too much that can be done. Braces tylenol water...sadly
I might just get hand braces, cause I couldn't bend my fingers back today and the carpal tunnel wasn't bad until the past 2 or 3 days and it got bad quick. I also sleep on my hands. I've been massaging them all day. And they'll go into spurts of going numb again. I might try the icy hot thing but the smell might get to me :p
Can that happen to ur arm too? Cause i have been waking up with different body parts being numb. Legs, arms, especially hands
I'm getting the same thing. Numb and sore and swollen hands. I'm 34 weeks. My doctor tells me it is carpal tunnel syndrome. Hopefully it goes away after birth. Ice packs help. Keep your hands as straight as possible. And massage them.. icy hot may help too.. He offered me hand braces for night time to keep hands straight. Because I sleep on my hands too.
