I so agree with you. Do the best you can and don't worry about the numbers. To whomever said it's 15 lbs... I don't agree with your logic. You would have to lose weight to only gain 15, considering that 18 lbs is the estimate in how much you'll gain from the placenta, extra blood, breast tissue, etc. Thats not including maternal fat, vitamin stores, and the actual baby! I would love to put on 15 lbs, pop out a 10 lb baby, lose another 18 lbs of placenta, fluid, etc. And come out than thinner than ever after birth, but that's unrealistic.

I don't think anyone should tell a pregnant woman what is normal weight gain or not every ones body is different and as long as your are healthy and your doctor agrees! Women are already self conscious as it is while pregnant I know I was and still am...20 weeks and have gained 10 lbs

sounds about average. im 29 wks tomorrow and im at about 25lbs. i haven't gained much in the last 4 wks and was measuring bigger earlier on and have slowed down to a normal pace now. everyone is different and gains differently. if your dr isn't concerned then you shouldn't be. average weight gain during pregnancy is 25 to 35 not the 10 to 15 stated above and those numbers are just guidelines. you literally gain close to 8 lbs in fluids alone during a pregnancy (blood doubles, amniotic fluid, placenta) so if the 10 to 15 pounds was the normal amount gained we'd be having 2-5 lbs babies? that doesnt add up to me. i think your right on track mama but by all means if you're feeling concerned speak to your dr. :)

Actually it is not normal to gain that much at 6 months. It is normal to gain 10-15 pounds total during pregnancy. Eating right and exercising has to become a priority. When we are pregnant our body starts storing food for breast feeding purposes so picking good food is important. I have gained 5 pounds in 3 months and my doctor had a talk with me about future weight gain.
