I had a ton of fresh pineapple during Thanksgiving not knowing that it was used to induce labor and next day was in the hospital getting medicine to stop contractions but everybody is different and it could've just been coincidence
I had fresh pineapple a week before my due date with my 3rd child, I lost my mucous plug hours later..But I didn't really know what it was I never lost it with my other 2 so I checked in with Dr. Next day and they told me I was dialated to 7 that she was ready to come! And she did!
I agree with wayfunmommy - please be careful!
Especially before 38 weeks, baby could come premature. Your due date can vary by 2 weeks and the last minute things baby does is VERY important. I know it's hard. It's miserable I'm not gonna lie, but it won't be too long! So at least wait until 38 weeks before you go too crazy with anything.
There is a lot of bad information in here. Nothing will help you if you are not already in labor.
Red raspberry leaf tea is not for labor induction. It is used to strengthen and tone your uterus to make contractions more effective when labor comes. It has nothing to do with starting labor.
Castor oil will only give you diarrhea.
Pineapple has an enzyme in it that people think may start labor but you would have to eat 7-10 whole pineapples, to include core and skin.
Evening primrose oil is used to soften and ripen your cervix. It will not cause labor.
Please take it from someone who has personally done extensive studies in herbalism and not just giving hearsay.
as congrats!! and Yea I been reading that nipple stimulation is the best and most effective safest way to inside labor however you have to do it for 3 hours at a time for it to work from what i've read. my nipples are too sensitive for me to do that lol guess I'll just be waiting! I do want to at least talk to my dr about the Expo and raspberry tea
I took castor oil and night right after taking it I had my baby and he is super healthy he just came in his water bag clean and active :)
I have read that the only true way to help get labor started is by nipple stimulation. This is due to the fact that when your nipples are being stimulated (like breast feeding) your body produces oxytocin. Which is the natural hormone that makes your body produce uterine contractions.
good luck
ive been reading up on the primrose oil & red raspberry leaf tea and the EPO said not safe during pregnancy but then contridicted itself in another paragraph saying its used to jump start labor. and when I read up on castor oil allot of women said it gave then horrible aide effects. I wouldnt use the castor oil but definitely looking into the tea and oil. I'm gonna buy both tomorrow.
I'm 32 weeks , but one of my family members used caster oil in her pregnancy , she was 35 weeks , and it knocked her into labor. She done it because her contractions were too bad , but I also heard that it makes the baby slippery also .
thanks ladies. I'm going to try the raspberry leaf tea. and loom more into this primrose oil ive been hearing about. I heard bad things about castor oil. I just wanna get this show on the road. ive eaten lots and lots of pineapple and that doesnt seen to be working.
Try eating spicy food ! (:
Raspberry leaf tea work for me !
I've also heard the castor oil and people swear it works
Don't do castor oil will make baby slippy I heard
Evening primrose oil... it sounds like your cervix needs help effacing and dilating and epo will do that but it will not force labour like castor oil can do (and is not dangerous unlike castor oil! ) try inserting a cpl popped capsules vaginally on an evening. This is what I am going to do at 39 weeks but not before as I don't feel the need to and baby needs to bake for as long as possible.
I was told that castor oil will do the trick.
Nothing actually works unless your body is already going into labor. Once you are in labor walking will help it go faster.
