wisdom tooth

Have any of you gotten your wisdom teeth pulled out? Did you take the motrin and penicillin that the dentist prescribed?  I'm scared that it harmed my baby in anyway

You shouldn't take Motrin while pregnant. I would take to my Dr before having them pulled. If the Dr says it's ok I wouldn't worry about it.

I didn't need any pain relief at all when I had a wisdom tooth out. Once the local anaesthetic wore off within about two hours I was back to eating and drinking normally and no pain whatsoever.

I had my wisdom tooth pulled out at about 18 weeks with no problems. In fact I didn't bleed (didn't even need gauze in the chair) or need any pain killers whatsoever & ate lunch about an hour after. I'm not kidding myself, I know I got lucky as I've heard some nasty stories and your experience may not be anything like mine. You have to weigh it up, if it's causing you pain or is infected/impacted then it's worth doing! If it's not bothering you, leave it be for now. Keep in mind the dentist has likely treated hundreds of pregnant women and knows what is and isn't safe. Best of luck for an easy and painless recovery.

I was in severe pain and had to have one of the top teeth cut out 3 weeks ago(I was 33 weeks) and was prescribed tylenol/hydrocodone for pain. The oral surgeons office made my OB fax them a list of meds i could have after surgery before they would cut my tooth out. I only needed one pain pill after. There's barely any pain associated with having the top teeth pulled. I had the bottom done 5 yrs ago and it was rough so If its not an emergency I would try and wait on the bottom teeth until you have the baby.

You don't get it pulled. It's bad on the baby. The only thing u can get while pregnant, is a clean but with no chemicals.
