So I have heard the multiple  wives tales of 5hings such as if the heart beat is fast it's a girl, if you crave sweets it's a girl, and if your hips and butt spread out more and get bigger then it's a girl. My family is praying for the first grandchild to be a girl, so had anyone had any of these and the baby be a girl? I was at the doctor today and the heartbeat was 178 so that just increased everyone's hopes of a girl. I would like a girl as well but as long as it's healthy I'll be ok.

Im having a girl i craved sour and spicey stuff. Her heart beat always ranged in the 140s. My friend craved nothing but sweet candy and had a boy she also had heart burn baby came with no hair. The old wives tales is just something fun to do. Its nothing to get hopes up for. My husband thought we would have a boy by my symptoms but it luckily came to be a girl.

No, there is no way to tell aside from an ultrasound. There is obviously a 50/50 chance of it being right or wrong and that's why you see so many people trying to confirm it works but it doesn't. You have just as much luck as flipping a coin and swearing that means a boy or girl and about as much science behind it too.

I'm having a boy and his heart beat is 156- 165. I crave sweets all the time and I had the worst morning sickness the first 4 months of pregnancy. Everyone was set on it being a girl, even me and my fiancé. But we are having a boy, I even did the Chinese calendar and it said girl. But I'm happy either way, don't depend on the wives tales to much, that are mainly for fun.

Im having a girl but everything seems (according to the old wives tails) to be pointing to a boy. Im not wide as I was with my daughter, I crave salty/spicy sweets makes me sick, first ultrasound heart rate was 165 and the rest after that from 124-140. Ive had 3 ultrasounds showing its a girl :) so FALSE

Thats a girl! I have two boys ans they heart rate stayed around 140-150 but now im having a girl her heart rate stay around 155_171

My pregnancies are... Boy. Girl. And now boy with this one.  With both boys I have had very similar things.  I craved dill pickles like crazy.   And both boys were and are very active. So I was pretty hopeful we were having another boy. My daughter's pregnancy was harder and more uncomfortable than the boys.  She was on my bladder the whole time and I had no appetite and terrible heartburn the third trimester.  She did come out very hairy.  Her hair was so thick and about 1 1/2 inches long.  Definately different.

Well in my case the wives tell was very true. My two girls always had a very high heart beat rate which was in the high 160's-170's. Now I am 7 months pregnant and I have the heart beat doppler which I use at least 3-4 times a month and his heart beat has always been in the 140's. The wives tell says girls have a higher heart rate than boys. So I am leaning towards its a true wives tell :)

It's just a myth. I'm 36 weeks and I heard many things to about the sex of a baby. I have a cousin and bother her and her husband had a name they loved and were hoping to use it. They did that with their son and daughter. I was the same way when I was 3.5 months pregnant I set on a name for my baby and I was hoping for a girl. When I went to the doctor for my second ultrasound I was told I was having a girl. A mother's instinct is usually proven right and a lot of my family said I was having a boy but they were wrong. So follow your motherly instincts.

For me it was more of a gut feeling that I was having a girl :) but my hips and butt just exploded I got some serious junk in the trunk lol and I crave sweets insanely.. well mostly doughnuts and and anything from a bakery :)

Those are just old wives  tales  I wouldn't  get your heart set on having a girl cause there's a 50/50 chance it's a boy every baby is a blessing

I'm having a boy I increased in butt and boobs I crave chocolate always and his heart rate it's always above 140. Do the necklace test I did early on and it showed boy

I'm having a girl and my hips and butt have spread but I don't have a taste for sweets.  Her heartbeat stays in the 160s.

I'm having a girl and she took my butt and breast. All babies heart rate is fast so my midwife said. Sweets make me sick!!! But I never experienced any of this while pregnant with my other girls.
