I had to take it with my first from week 6 to week 42! I would have starves to death or died of dehydration without it. I lost 33 pounds while pregnant with my daughter.  She is 3 years old and perfect in every way.
I am not saying that some people won't have side effects from it but it is probably being blown way up because if it was proven to be extremely dangerous doctors wouldn't prescribe it. In the 60's women were given thelydamide for morning sickness and it ended up causing severe birth defects and was banned because of it.

I'm taking it. I've been taking it since 7 weeks and I'm currently 20 weeks. My doctor perceived it to me because I lost 34 pounds because I couldn't keep anything down at all. I still throw up every morning and after I throw up I take Zofran because I'll have sickness all day long. And even throw up water when I drink it. My doctor is a close friend of mine. (I know her personally) and she said that it's perfectly safe. Peoples babies just have stuff wrong with them and they're trying to find something to blame it on.

I took zofran with me first pregnancy and she was perfect and healthy. I took out from 5 weeks until 20 weeks and so far no signs of any birth defects.

I was prescribed Ondansetron (generic Zofran) by the hospital for hyperemesis from 6 weeks until 17 weeks after being admitted multiple times due to dehydration and starvation. I still felt ill after stopping but I was able to cope with it better.  I asked my consultant the same question and she said no medication can be described as safe in pregnancy as no pregnant women will submit their pregnant bodies to a medical study (understandably!). I am now 34+5 and my little girl is very healthy and while I've lost a lot of weight in this prehnancy she is measuring large for GA, so very like my first. I know that I would have had major issues without issue at as I couldn't keep water or food down, not even my own spit. I had morning sickness with my first and that was fine, this was a whole different story.

I wouldn't use it, it's all over tv for birth defects just how the other ladies are saying.

Im in a group on facebook coz my baby has a heart condition and a lot of the women on there have ongoing lawsuits as they believe zofran has caused their babys to have heart defects..never took it myself and no heart problems in either side of our families and my baby still had this happen to her..docs says its just unfortunately one of those things that happen...a lot in the group though truly believe its zofran that caused their babys condition though..i dont know maybe they are looking for something to blame for their babys problems which is understandable but i dont know why doctors would still be prescibing this to pregnant women if they think it can cause birth defects...birth defects happen sometimes for no reason so i dont know if id blame this drug as it could just be one of things too..impossible to prove id imagine

Your doctor wouldn't prescribe it if it wasn't safe. I would think that they would take it off the market if it was causing birth defects and what not....
