@lacretamia21 I think it's misguided of you to state that 40 plus is too old to bear children. We're still fertile and more than capable of carrying and rearing children at 40+. In fact many grandparents even step in and do a wonderful job of parenting when parents are not around for whatever reason (death, illness etc.)
Surely your concern should be focussed on being a good parent rather than a younger or older parent.
It's also unfair to put an age cut off on anybody's uterus/fertility and personal choices. Everybody walks their own path in life.....you have no knowledge of my journey for example and yet you judge. We all have to play the hand we're dealt in life and that is all we can do.
I think everyone should have a baby young. 40 plus is just to old. Then again u don't choose when to meet the right man lol. Good luck ladies
I tried for many years to conceive again, without any luck. Now I had my son when I was 18. I was on Clomid during my late 20's, but it never happened. I have 1 ovary and 1 tube. Im 41, and just found out that I am pregnant. We are ecstatic!!!! A miracle indeed!
I'm almost 39 years old. N 35 week pregnant. It took me 2 months to get pregnant n I had just removed my IUD that I had for 5 years. N I have not had any complications at all with the baby or this pregnancy. But also consider that age does affect the percentage of have a baby with complications or down syndrome.
I am 46 and conceived naturally.
I am 12 week 6 days, and ultrasound at 12 wks was was super! baby was kicking like crazy and suckling it's hand! So exciting. I've been married 24 yrs.,our first is 18, we never tried to stop pregnancy, tried to help it along ,but didn't happen till now. We put it in God's hands many years ago, this is His timing. I am thankful to be blessed with this gift from above!
It depends very much on the individual. Certainly everybody's fertility drops massively around 40 and there is far more likelihood of having multiple births, birth defects, miscarriages, fetal abnormalities and pregnancy problems such as diabetes and preeclampsia. That said it is possible to have a healthy baby over 40 and even an easy pregnancy. There are plenty of examples - I'm 40, 35 weeks and one of my friends who is 44 will be induced on Mon. We're just more delecate when we're older :) and to conceive may take longer, require weight loss and clean living from both parents. Good luck x
