Birth control for years

I was on birth control for probably 5 years and me and my husband decided we would start trying last month so I stopped taking it. I am now 3 days late but I'm not sure if I am pregnant or if it's because I was on birth control for so long. (I wouldn't have a period without it, my doctor said I didn't ovulate naturally because I would go months without a period) I have taken tests and they have all been negative but they were taken before my 'predicted period' what's the chances of me getting pregnant after taking birth control for that many years? And since my doctor said I don't ovulate naturally do you think it's a possibility that I may not be pregnant now?

I stopped taking BC twice before and both times my period came normally the first two months off it but then the third month I was about two weeks late. I thought for sure both times I was pregnant but all the tests I took after my predicted period date were negative. It was the weirdest thing! So what I'm saying is: expect weird things with your period and trust the tests...if they're negative your period will show up eventually!

Give it a week and then do a pregnancy test if you haven't had a period. You should have a return to fertility even with taking birth control pills for five years. It often takes people six months to a year to conceive and that still in the realm of normal. Make sure you're taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid avoiding harmful substances like alcohol tobacco or prescription drugs that are not recommended in pregnancy, exercising regularly and eating and healthy diet. Also- enjoy this time you're making a baby!
