Period 5 days late but negative test. Can I still be pregnant?
Hey girls, I'm also new to the site. My husband and I decided its time to try to get pregnant after two and a half years of being happily married. We planned around my ovulation time (11th-14th), had unprotected intercourse, and now are praying for the best. My period is now four days late (due on the 2nd of the month). I have had two negative tests; one I took on the 24th of September (possibly too soon) and the other yesterday on the 4th. Both were taken with first morning urine and I followed the directions on the test explicitly. I am not experiencing any symptoms besides some clear discharge (not too much), headaches and very occastional dizzy spells. I have,however been under a lot of stress from work (my first year teaching) the past two weeks. This could play a factor into things. I am sure I did ovulated last month, though, before the major stress began. So I'm very confused at my results. I will test again in a few days. Do you have any ideas? If I don't get it by the end of this week I guess I'll make an appointment for a blood test. I am just so anxious to get the result I want like so many others. Please help with any advice you can give me. This is my life's goal and dream to have a healthy baby. Thanks for all your help!

thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it. The update is: I went to get a blood test when my 2nd missed period would have been due. My results were suppose to come in within 2-4 days, however, I got early results when my period came within hours of the visit! Go figure, huh. I simply skipped a period, probably from stress of my job and worrying too much. Thanks again for your input!

Hi there yes it's common to be pg and get a bfn. It's called false neg results. If you go to pee on a stick .com it will tell you the hpts that are more sensitive to hcg than others. Clear blue is a brand that tends to give bfns. I'm pg and I took a test after one came back pos and said neg so I tested a week later and there was a pos cross. I would re test and if still neg get some blood drawn. How do you feel. Best of luck and let me know what happens.
