For those pregnant with twins: how much weight?

I guess I am feeling curious today.  Here is another question for you ladies.

I am 16w+5d and have put on 12 lbs in total.  I put on 7lbs in the past month!  I am only 5'2" and weighed 111 before I got pregnant....if I continue at this rate, I will be mega huge!  In my pregnancy with my DD, I only put on 22 lbs in total!  I saw on one website that I am on the high end of what one should put on with twins in the 17th week!
So was just curious,

Which week are you and how much have you put on so far???

For those who already had twins, feel free to share how much you put on in your whole pregnancy!  curious about that too! :)

Well I am jealous already.......I have a thyroid disorder, so when I got pregnant with twins i was already heavier than I should have been.  IVF always makes me gain 10-12lbs so another dis adavantage.  I have already gained about 20 lbs at 16 weeks.  I am very sad about it.  I will have alot of work to do when they are born.

I gained 7 pounds by 10 weeks.  I took fertility meds though, which caused severe bloating in the first month of my pregnancy.  Also, I never had any morning sickness (to speak of ~ I only vomited once and that's because I took my prenatal on an empty stomach) and have tried to eat healthy and eat more since I'm eating for three.

On a brighter note, they say its good to gain a lot of weight in the first trimester, or as early as possible in the pregnancy, because it can help the babies be more developed if they come early, which twins usually do.

I gained 35 lbs or so.  I was on bed rest and had terrible heartburn so I did not have much of an appetite...I did try to get in my protein everyday so help with putting weight on the babies.

I'm 33 weeks with twins and i've gained 50 lbs so far.
I started out weighing 113 lbs and today's appt i was 163.
I really dont look it at all though, so i've done well!

I gained probably 12 lbs in my first trimester.
Just remember, you have 2 babies, more fluid for each baby, and possibly 2 placentas. So theres extra weight there.

I know that the weight gain that they usually want you to gain usually has something to do with what you were pre-pregnancy. With my height and pre pregnancy weight i was considered under-weight and they want me to gain 60.

My babies at 32 weeks were 4lbs 7oz and 4lbs4oz. So great weights. They're estimating them being 6-7lbs at birth :D

I gained 25 pounds when I had the girls at 33-1/2 weeks so I think I was on track to gain about 30 pounds in total. I was about 30 pounds overweight to begin with though and my girls were born at a really good weight. For some odd reason and like no other time in my life, I ate absolutely everything and tons of calories and my body just gained at a steady pace. I ate ice cream religously every night, cheeseburgers, etc. and the weight didn't really pile on. Gotta love when that happens. It was the same when I had my daughter. I went 38 weeks with her and she was 5 lbs. 10 oz. at birth and at 33-1/2 weeks my twin girls were 3 lbs. 15 oz. and 4 lbs. 11 oz. so they were on track to be about 5-6 pound babies by 37 weeks (time when they would have scheduled my c-section). Belive me, I do not have that great of a metabolism and wish whatever regulated my weight would continue!!! hahahah : )

I have gained too much I think. I am five foot 3 inches tall. Weight 115 before IVF. Then went up to 125 from the IVF, and have gained 45 so far and I am 29 weeks. My doctors told me to take walks and I have but still am gaining like 2 pounds a week at this rate I will be over 50 for sure.

I think you are gaining a very helthy weight for the twin pregnancy. A book I was reading when pregnant calle When Expecting Twins, Triples and Quads said that a typical twin pregnancy would call for a weight gain of 45-55 pounds for a person of normal weight, less if overweight and more for underweight.

Chasing after those twins after they are born will melt the pounds away ; )

In my 1st trimester I lost 25lbs. I'm a plus size twin momma so my OB assured me that is was common for women like me to lose weight in pregnancy. There was a point where I thought mmy gaining was getting out of control but after being on bedrest for two weeks I lost 12lbs of what my OB says is water weight.  So far I have only actually gained 17lbs back after losing the initial 25lbs. My two are measuring good weights so I am not worried. I play to try to lose weight after they arrive and I agree with tbeards, I'm sure that whatever you gain will melt away fast!!

I gained 50 lbs and only made it to 32 weeks!

I lost it all in about 4-5 months though.  Don't worry, everyone gains different amounts at different rates.  Unless your doc is concerned, I'm sure you are fine!  Good luck!
