High Hcg and Progesterone @ 4 weeks

I had a high level of HCG and progesterone at four weeks..I'm just wondering if both of them being high is indicative of twins or more?  My progesterone is 48.7 and the secretary just said that the HCG was high and that my dr. would call me Monday to discuss it.

I'm pretty sure your levels are meant to double every 2 days. ie 500 day one then 1000 day three then 2000 day 5 4000 day 7 8000 day 9. This is what I was told by my doc. But I don't kbiw what it means if they don't go up by much. Sorry. I'm sure your doc will explain it all.

I can't remember what day the 179 HCG level was. It just striked me that the number jump from 179 to 679 in one weekend. If you google HCG levels it will tell you the possibility of twins. I am now 20 weeks (half way) now and having a girl and boy. Your numbers sound pretty high, you may be having twins......Keep me posted.

Hi.  What day were your levels 179?  Mine were 266 at 14dpiui and my progesterone was 62. Then 606 at 16dpiui and then 2806 at 20dpiui.  I have an u/s next week but I cannot stop obsessing and wondering what these numbers may mean!  Congratulations to all of you!

I hope it's twins...I would be thrilled! Which site did you refer to when you looked up your hcg levels? I've heard that betabase is good and it seems pretty informative.

I have the same situation. On one friday, I took a blood test and my HCG was semi high, then my doctor took another test on the following monday and the HCG shot up in numbers. I google HCG level and I believe mine level went from 179 to 679 in one weekend. It showed online it's a high possibility of twins. Well, I am 19 weeks and 2 days pregnant with twins (boy and girl). I am so excited about this. This is me and my husband first babies and believe these babies was truly a gift from God. Good Luck and keep us posted.

You never know.  I did a bunch of research on this when my numbers were high and it can mean multiples or singletons....  Let us know what your Dr. says!!!
