Twin Pregnancy

Hi everyone. I just recently found out that I am 11wks pregnant with twins. At about 9 or 10wks the OB saw two heartbeats and two sacs. I am worried about the disappearing twin thing and want to know if anyone else has experienced it or what the odds are of it happening at this point in the pregnancy. Also, I work at a job where I am on my feet all day and constantly moving. Every night at work I get cramping but it does not happen at home. Knowing that I am pregnant with twins, this worries me a bit more, am I being paranoid?

Hi.  I just recently found out I'm also pregnant with twins & although I'm excited, I have some of the same concerns you do.  I'm glad you're at 12 weeks & past the worry of a vanishing twin ;)  I'll be 8 weeks on Thurs.  Best wishes!!!

Thanks for the advice. I went to the doctor yesterday and both babies were fine and kicking. My doctor said since i'm about 12 wks disappearing twin risk is gone and now its just staying healthy and hoping there isnt a miscarriage with one or both. Babies were already fighting and kicking eachother. Sibling rivalry starts early I suppose. I'm waiting to see if my employer will work with my new restrictions or if they will put me on LOA. Either way is fine. Well thanks again. Your boys are really adorable by the way. Are they identical or fraternal?

My friend with twins was a waitress and did fine,
For both of my twin pregnancies I was on my feet all day till 35 weeks (one I had them at 35 weeks - the other I went on rest at 35w 6 days I think till they were born 4 days later)
my legs did swell and cramp!

things like the disappearing twin..don't worry about. it'll just add more stress you don't need. just focus on you and those babies! if you're starting to get cramping from being on your feet tell your ob. he can either put you on bedrest, tell you to stop working (i was told to not work at all) or put you on modified work.
