a couple of questions...

Hi, hope you are all blessed today.  I have a couple of questions, maybe some of you ladies can help me out.

first of all, i had an u/s today.  7 weeks 1 day.  Saw a heartbeat (146 per minute).  YEAH.  Ok, here are my questions:

1.  They saw 2 cysts on my right ovary, both aprox 1 1/2 cm.  Could this be a problem?  I had a 14 cm solid ovarian tumor removed last year along with my left ovary, so I'm a little scared about that.
2.  Since they saw 2 cysts, does that mean I released 2 eggs?
3.  it was suspected that I might be carying twins, but u/s today showed only 1.  Reasons suspected:  Twins run very heavily on the Maternal side of my family with at least 1 set in every single generation.  (maternal side only).  Also, was on Clomid  AND just have a "FEELING". Is it possible that they MISSED one of the little ones on the u/s????
4.  during the u/s....the tech said there was some hemoraging in the uterus or around the uterus?  i didn't really understand what she was saying.  she said it wasn't bleeding currently.  Does anyone have any idea what that means?

thank you so much for your time!!!!   LOVE YOU LADIES!!!!  ***BABY DUST***

Really?  Is 146 good at 7 weeks?  She said a range was 120-180.  Does the heartbeat stay around the same thru the pregnancy or does it change?

Thank you so much.

I talked to my brother who is a Nursing Director (and he and his wife just had twins)....he said that my sis-in-law had that hemorgae thing I was talking about (he had a scientific term of course)....he said it was not a big deal, just a pocket of blood.  nothing to worry about.

I went and picked up a picture of the ultra sound picture, I could swear I see another little area that could be a sack.  I'm sure i'm just being a "crazy patient"....but to me, it looks like it could be sometihng.  Who knows.  I'm just so happy that I have one!!!!  I'll consider myself blessed more than I deserve!!

First off, congrats!!  146 is a great heartbeat at 7 weeks!

Given your history of previous ovarian tumor, i would think your docs would let you know if they were overly concerned about the cycts seen on the u/s.  I would certainly suggest that you call to double check, but I think cysts are pretty common this early in a pregnancy and are often just extra follicles that formed in your last cycle.  Since you were taking Clomid, it's likely that you had more than 1 follicle that formed, but that doesn't necessarily mean that more than 1 egg was released.

I don't think it's likely that they missed another embryo in there.  I think they sometimes miss them at 4-5 weeks, but by 7 weeks, I think here would be something there to see.  I don't know what hemorrhaging in the uterus means - but again, if the docs aren't concerned, it's probably okay.
Best of luck on a healthy pregnancy!

thank you.  I appreciate your imput.  this is an awesome site and a great way to get info from others who are "experienced" in these things.

i'm MORE THAN HAPPY AND CONTENT with whatever God decides to give me.  After a miscarriage last year and a 14 cm tumor removed last year also (ovarian), i'm just VERY excited to be pregnant at all.

This is a special child.  I was just curious because I don't know ANYTHING about this stuff.  :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU for your knowledge.  :)

no the cycsts mean nothing as to how many eggs you release and this early they shouldn't have any problem seeing a second one.....and the hemoraging I'm not sure...and also clomid doesn't always produce multiples....I have been pregnant two times with multiple and once with a singleton....the first set of multiples was with out meds the singleton was with clomid and then I was pregnant with triplets (now my twins) and they were conceived with clomid....I'm sure they knew what they were doing on the u/s and congrats with the new baby coming.
