my baby's health

hi, iam 18 weeks pregnant, my first trimester was from hell, iwas barely eating because of the nausea and exttreme fatige. ifeel better now but i know that the first trimester is so sensetive because most of the sensetive developing stages of my baby were taaking place by that time and am afraid my lake of eating may affect my baby (i wasnt on any parental vit. except folic acid). my last parental visit my DR. told me that my baby is smaller than he should be,that was month ago. and she highly reccomended that i should eat more specially foods with calcium. hopefully i did. but can all this lead to premature labour? and shold i take parental vit. although my DR. told me not to? and dose it help or replace the gap of my poor calcium diet?

kinder is right however, peanut butter and nuts are full of protein, just throwing a couple options out for you

Protein is what really puts the weight on the baby and helps with brain development.

I am very surprised your doctor told you to abstain from taking prenatal vitamins.  I am pregnant with twins (now 34 weeks along) however, my first trimester was from hell also.  I couldn't eat A THING I couldn't even drink water. I ended up tearing my esophogus from throwing up so much.  One night I had thrown up blood all night and when I went to the hospital that morning they had to put me under anesthesia to see how bad my esophogus was.  I was so worried about my babies. Not to mention I had a chorionic bleed and bled up until almost 16 weeks along.
I am sorry you went through a terrible first trimester as well. Since your doctor said your baby is on the smaller side maybe try eating more good fats (if you can stomach them) such as peanut butter, a variety of nuts to munch on things like that.  And maybe drink some orange juice once in a while, that will help your calcium!
I just wanted to let you know after everything I had gone through my first trimester, both my babies are good and healthy!  so stay positive!  when is your next app? I bet now that your first trimester is behind you you will slowly gain your appetite back and you won't have any more problems.
good luck to you!
