Hey there Mrs.
There are many variables to consider on why you can't carry through with a twin pregnancy. I don't know where to start and how many of the variables that your already aware of.
Diet: are you staying away from caffeine? Seafood? and of course no Alcohol. there are more foods that we need to stay away from while ttc and while carrying.
Hormones: I'm a surrogate and 11 weeks pregnant. I'm still taking Progeterone and Estrace until week 12 along with extra folic acid and baby aspirin and of course my prenatal vitamins. Some dr's will prescribe progesterone to help the body along with holding onto a pregnancy.
Weight: Weight plays another big factor. and staying away from smoking or 2nd hand smoke.
These are just a couple of the basic reasons. What has your dr. said about some of the possiblities that you haven't been able to carry longer than 3 months??
Hope to hear more.
until then,,,Good luck!!!
*sending sticky vibes your way*
Hi. I'm sorry for your losses ;( Have you had an HSG exam (hysterosalpingogram)? Mine showed my uterus is a T-shape & so, the doctor checked my cervical length to make sure it wasn't shortening (which mine was). If you have an abnormality with your uterus, it can cause a second trimester miscarriage. Take care & best wishes :)
I actually think I miscarried because of the baby aspirine they prescribed when I miscarried
change the variables to see what happens
very possible about the aspirin. I was in the hospital Thur's Feb 4th 2010. and We decided to take things easy, no strenuous activities and we're discontinuing the baby aspirin which worked well at the begining becuase it does increase the bloodflow to the uterus, but we're no longer using it in my protocol. Things since thur's have mellowed and the u/s at the hospital showed that the twins are doing great.
So YES!! any aspirin products are possibly another factor to not being able to carry to full term. (Good point Mysty :D )

I hadn't thought about baby aspirin, but that could be very possible. I started using baby aspirin before my IVF cycle, as prescribed by my RE. I was told to discontinue it as of maybe 10 weeks (somewhere around 9-10). So, yes, definitely don't continue using it throughout your pregnancy. Great point! :)
