induction help

For anyone who's ever been induced...how long was the process?  Ive been here for about 14 hours and still not hooked up to pitocin. They put something on my cervix overnight but now they r having me walk. They say my cervix is very posterior. It's like i just want my fkn baby out. I don't care if u like my cervix or not. This is my second baby also. Im just getting so discouraged. Its like i just want to get this going. The dr last night had planned on the pitocin this morning but now this dr wants to do all this other **** first. Is like i don't want to b in this hospital for a ******* week... i miss my 3 year old at home. :-(  Please share if you have been induced. I am getting soooooo upset

I think everywhere and doctors are very different because my dctr induced me with all my 3 pregnancys I had before and open quick and they put me the IV right away and add the meds to induced me.. Everything went fine. Thank god. But I think all dctrs do their thing different.

Lol I know how you feel!! I'm not sure how they are inducing me yet, over here its really whatever method is "flavour of the month" - they don't like to hook you up to the IV unless necessary, they'd rather start with the tablet, gel or pessary...and wait and see if they work, then offer you a second dose if they don't :/    I hope things start soon for you x

Induction is different for everyone, I've heard so many different stories go so many different ways. I was induced with my daughter at 41w3days and it probably went better than a lot of people go through with induction. But on 8-8-12 at 10 a.m. they put the cervadil in my cervix to help soften and dialte, I was already 2 cm when I got to the hospital and at 2 p.m. my contractions started (the cervadil wasn't supposed to put me in labor but it did). I finally got to 4 cm dilated at 7 a.m. on 8-9-12 and it felt like it took forever. I was in a lot of pain, had been all day and night, so I asked for an epidural at 7 a.m. and after I got it things progressed faster. They broke my water and it was a lot of fluid and baby started stressing so the put more fluid back inside of me and hooked a monitor to baby's head. When I got to 9 cm I started pushing but nothing was happening. Pushed for an hour and had to stop and rest for 30 minutes. Pushed another hour and still nothing, so doctor gave me a choice to try vacuum assitance or c-section. I chose the vacuum and after 30 more minutes of very hard pushing my baby girl was here At 5:34 p.m. so it took me about 28 and a half hours of labor unfortunately but she was also my first baby. I've heard its easier after having a baby but don't know how true it is. Good luck and I hope you will be holding your baby soon! :)

I was induced yesterday also, if you remember! I got here at5, and was hooked up to the monitor until it was time for my Dr to put the bulb thing on my cervix which took place around 7!! I began to have contractions that I was taking very well as they say! Around 10 they put my IV in and gave me a pill to help me sleep and also one to calm the contractions! At 12 this morning they took out the bulb which only dilated me to a 3!! So I slept the rest off and got up at 8! Water will be broke between. 1-2!! Best wishes!!

Aw hun poor you :(     Was it a pessary they put in (like a tampon type thing)?   They leave that for 24 hours, its supposed to help ripen your cervix and make it soft for delivery, possibly because your cervix is still wuite posterior - my frined is just over 40 weeks and they couldn't even give her a sweep as her cervic was still to far back they couldn't reach it :/ x
