kidney stones please help!!

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and have really bad kidney stones my doctor prescribed me antibiotics and pain pills :-( I don't like taking the pain pill they make me sick and I don't feel like it is healthy for my baby.. Has any one been through this while pregnant?? I go back to work in 3 weeks and there's no way I can work with this much kidney pain!!

Id be concerned with the antibiotics. Lol
Benifits vs. Consequences though, i suggest taking them because kidney stones suck! As far as pain manegment its all what you think you can take, half pill, or just plain tylenol . Youd honestly have to take hydrocodone for your whole pregnancy before your chances of yur baby coming out addicted is a possibility.i was prescribed hydrocodone and i took it as needed, i know some people get addicted but you dont sound like the type anyway.
Tylenol is another pain pill you can take...idk about any remedies you might want to look that up online

Tylenol is acetametophine and taking a high dose of that in a day is not good for you. Cant be good for your baby, i read that 2000 mg of acetametophine is what they recommend which i think is 4 pills a day (dont hold me to that.) Hydrocodone also contains acetometaphine so dont take a tylenol/hydrocodone combo. If your in as much pain as you say i would just take a half pill or even a quarter pill of hydrocodone since itll be the most pain releif without turning to a high dosage of tylenol

Thats something you have to talk to your dr about. Ive been prescribed pills that are known to cause defects in the first trimester(i was in my second) simply because theyre not worried since baby is all developed (anatomy wise) i dont know what antibiotic your taking & you can easily just google it you can also find storys of other women going through the same thing! I wouldnt worry if i were you, doctor wouldnt prescribe you anything that would be harmful to you or your baby, most likely he wouldve went over a possible risk of some sort.

I went thru this with my first pregnancy 2009 and my second pregnancy 2011. now with this pregnancy I have gallstones which is also bad. They gave me medicine and i never took them. I come from a mexican family and everytime i would get kidney stones my mom would always make Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus tea/drink) that helps the stone to dissolve my mom would tell me... and to tell u the truth the pain will go away....if u want u can look it up or ask ur doctor but that what i do.
