19 Week Weight Gain

Hi I'm a first time mother and I am curious to know how much weight you gained by 19 weeks?? At my last appointment we talked a lot about healthy eating. The midwife made me feel like I am not eating healthy enough. I eat eggs and those aren't good now apparently. I hardly eat out or eat sweets etc. I've gained 14 lbs. I need some advice please

That's awesome gain. The recommendation is to put on weight gradually with a gain of no more than 1-2 pounds a week average. I don't know what your midwife is talking about!

I'm a bigger woman and i haven't gained anything. I've actually lost 10lbs. But my Dr isn't concerned because baby is still growing.

Thank you! Weight has always been an issue to me and its one thing I struggle with during pregnancy is adjusting to getting bigger. Then when I think I'm doing the right things my weight is too high? At least I eat healthier pregnant than I did before :)

Your doctor is insane! Don't listen to her like that. Of course eggs cooked in  pound of butter arnt good for you. Boiled eggs are the best. I'm 25 weeks and only gained 7lbs and my doctor says it's fine, but I think it's not enough. I do eat its just mostly fruits and no more then 2-3 times a day. I'm just never hungry. All doctors have a different view in this subject I think. Although if you were overweight to start I would see her point(not saying you are cause idk) but they prefer heavier women only gain 15-20 lbs total. And average women to gain 25-30. My goal is to nut exceed over 25 lbs. I have another checkup at 27 weeks and I'm sure I've gaineda few nmore by now, I can feel it lol. I started at 130 and don't want to go over 150. As long as baby Is growing and healthy, then don't worry!

Even if you are overweight: I gained close to sixty pounds pregnant with my daughter and she is healthy and beautiful and I lost thirty in six weeks after she was born. I lost the rest of what I gained in the next year. I'm still overweight but everything was fine.

By 19 weeks I only gained a few pounds. I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow and have gained 11. I just do a lot of walking to maintain the weight. As long as baby is growing healthy, you're fine.  14 lbs at the half way mark isn't bad at all.

I think at 19 weeks I gained 15 or or 18. I'm 38w 4 days now and have gained 50lbs. I'm trying to be careful with what I eat from now on.

I'm 19 weeks and 3 days now and I've gained 7. When I went to the doctor at 17 weeks he basically made me feel like that was too much. Well, they said I had gained 10 but they had my starting weight wrong and I weigh myself at the gym five days a week so I know exactly how much I've gained. I asked if that was too much and he said "not right now but if u keep going at this rate it could become a problem". Which made me feel really bad because I know it's not that much! 20 weeks is halfway and the recommended weight gain is 25-35 lbs. so even if you have gained 14 and it doubles that's still only 28! I think youre doing fine :)

Oh and also, I eat eggs all the time too. And my dr actually told me to eat eggs. Because I'm getting low blood sugars and he said eggs are healthy and have alot of protein so it will keep my blood sugar regulated

I'm 18 weeks-- I started at 120lbs and I've gained about 5-6 lbs. My doctor said I should gain about a pound a week from now on. It never hurts to check with your doc or keep a journal of what you eat. Sometimes we snack more than we realize:)

It's right that everyone is different. My sister started at 102(on her 3rd kid) and she has gained 30 lbs already and is only 27 weeks.  She's a freak of nature lol she will walk out of the hospital weighing 100 lbs again just like after her other 2! Lol don't worry like I said. By 20 weeks with my son 4 years ago I gained over 20 lbs and my doctor says that wasn't enough. I started at 109. He wanted me to eat cake everyday lol. I have a different doctor for this pregnancy and she strongly believes in the 25 lb limit gain! Every doctor and every woman is different
