23wks preggo pain under ribs on right side?

Last friday I woke up to use the use the bathroom and when I was peeing my lower right abdomen would hurt as if something was being squeezed. When I stopped it would fade, but then when I tried again it would hurt. So I had to do a lot of stop and go peeing. The pain continued over the next couple days even when I wasn't using the bathroom. Now today when I woke up to take my husband to work my pee was cloudy and their was slight pain, but nothing like I had last friday. Then while I was driving him to work my right side under my ribs was hurting really bad to the point where I had to concentrate on breathing. After I got back home the pain faded, but was still a dull ache then I fell back asleep. When I woke up I was laying on my right side and I had the same pain under my ribs. When I sit up it doesn't hurt that much, but when I lay down it hurts more. I'm 23 weeks pregnant what could this be? I'm already trying to get a hold of my doctor. Has anyone else experienced this while pregnant?

I had the same thing.. You said your urine is cloudy ? Sounds to me like you might possibly have a kidney stone...

I'm having that too but in my ribs only and no problem with urine. Did you ever find out what it is?

I'm sorry, but for some reason I just now saw this post.  Did you ever find out what this was for sure?  From all the symptoms it seemed like a kidney infection, especially because of the pain & cloudy urine.  I was told that they and bladder infections are quite common during pregnancy & drinking more water and cranberry juice help.  Being the dental hygienist that I am though, be careful with "juice", as many of them contain large amounts of sugar and can rot your teeth something fierce.  Especially if you also have a lot of acid reflux which has weakened your enamel.  (Similar to what happens to Bulimics teeth...ie: erosion)  Anyway, hope you are doing well.
Take care,
    Sarah
