34 Week appt. Update! and ?? about 36 week ultrasound...

I went to the ob's office yesterday for my 34 week appointment.  I was technically 33 weeks 4 days.  My blood pressure was fine.  Baby's heart rate was in the 160's - which was higher than normal, but he was unusually active yesterday during the exam.  Landen was kicking the midwife when she was trying to tell how he was positioned.  I have had a flu virus since sunday (nothing major, just aches, congestion, etc)  She told me to take tylenol cold/flu - and that I could use cough drops so I have been - but now the drainage has gone to my ear and I can't hear out of my ear. It is driving me crazy!

The good news is that they scheduled me an appointment for 11/5 and then I start going every week.  On 11/12 I scheduled an appointment with ultrasound - so I am excited!  I should be 36 weeks 4 days!  I haven't had an ultrasound since 18 weeks and he was being bashful- so this exciting - I hope he won't be too crowded in their that we can't get a face shot, b/c we didn't get a face shot last time.

So my question is has anyone had an ultrasound about this time and had a good one?  Where you could get good photos or is the baby too crowded in there to actually see anything?

alaysha - Thanks! I saw your 4-D pic and it was good - I hope Landen's will turn out too - BTW- Aspen's halloween pictures are adorable!

ashiepooh - That is why they are doing the u/s to see how he is positoned and the see how big he was.  At 18 weeks they pushed my due date back 2 weeks b/c he was measuring small - so he may have caught up since then.

LACh1 - I haven't dropped yet - but the appointment is still 2 1/2 weeks away.  Hopefully he stays up there so we can see him, but if not  - you are right - I guess it will only be a few more weeks until I get to see the real thing.

I haven't had an us sound done this late, but I would think you could get some good shots depending on the babies position.  If your baby is head down and quite far down it might be a bit more difficult to see the face.  I'm not sure if it is a myth or not but they say your baby drops earlier in the first pregnancy than in other ones.  But this is my second nearly term pregnancy and my baby has been well down for about 4 weeks now so who knows.  Good luck and i hope you get a good look at your little one (if not it is not long now until you will see him for real).

Yeah at 36 weeks they usually do one to check if the baby is head down or breeched!  But it is probably some of the best pictures you can get if the tech does it right  :)

I had a 4-D one at 36 weeks to check on Aspen's position and got the most AMAZING photo's. If you look my pictures its on like the last page and it is a picture of her face... perfectly formed and EXACTLY what she looked like when she was born. Technology is incredible.

Thanks guys - I am just hoping to get a few good shots, but if not - I guess I can wait a few more weeks to see the real thing (I am just so impatient!)  I am excited that they are doing another u/s - they said insurance would only cover one - but they are "special ordering" this one.

Well, with my son, at 34w3d I had an ultrasoun to check his kidney and I got face shots!!!  It depends on the tech really.  But I had him at 35w.   So maybe you can get one!

Good Luck!
