I was induced at 40 weeks 3 days. I was 60%effaced and 1 cm dilated. I got an epidural and it was definitely needed since by the time I felt the pitocin it gave me no breaks between contractions. My epidural worked perfectly and 5 days after delivery I've pretty much stopped bleeding and only take ibuprofen for pain since I got an episiotomy. I only pushed for about 30 minutes but since my blood pressure was dropping (I was anemic) and baby's heart rate was as well my doctor did the episiotomy and forceps to quickly get her out. I feel great and being induced was the right choice for me. I also didn't think I would dilate more and am glad to not have gone too far past my due date.
Idk why people say don't get induced . If your water breaks you have to get induced regardless that's what happened with my first and yeah labor was a little longer than with my second but I felt like it didn't hurt as bad . I was at 5 cm for the longest not progressing and as soon as I got the epidural within an hour I was at 10 cm ready to push .. With my second, contractions came naturally at 5cm but I felt like it hurt 10x worse.. Asked for epidural like 4 hrs after being admitted and same thing everything went smoothly from there . Now with my third I'm getting induced next Sunday at 39 weeks if she doesn't come on her own. I don't think a doctor will induce you if they didn't think it was safe , if you go to labor on your own you still are at risk for anything to go wrong , everyone is different .
I'll have to wait until next week to see if my cervix has changed, I've been having pelvic pains for a week and I haven't had any urge or energy to have sex
Don't worry your almost there. Yea I have the same pains between my legs! Especially when I turn over in bed!!!
I've never been induce with my both pregnancy it's always my water is breaking before my due date but now with my third pregnancy it's been horrible I've been having pelvic pains for a week lot's of pressure and still at a 1cm thick.
I got induced with my first daughter at 38 weeks pregnant because I had a tiny hole in my bag! It was so smooth for me.. Of course the contractions hurt just a little bit more but my induction experience is not a bad one. But with this pregnancy I don't want to get induced I'm just gonna let her come when she is ready. And yes I am having so much pain this time around and want it to be over with but the time is almost here. Wish the best for u and hope all goes well
As a mom who has been there done that, I will say if you are induced make sure it's for the right reasons. Being induced can be a crazy roller coaster. I was induced at 40 weeks exact. My child was causing me alot of pain due to her size and other complications. 17 hours of labor later I stopped at 7 cm and got very sick and so did she. In the end it lead to an emergency c section. And to be honest alot of mom's who get induced end up in a c section situation. Not always but in many cases. It makes your your contractions your contractions way more frequent and sometimes much harder. I I hope I hope this helps. I don't want to scare you. Please keep in mind this was my situation. And many women who are induced every day do not have complications. But I would say that if it's not medically needed opt out of inducing if you can. Baby will come when they are ready.
I'm not rushing into nothing it's just my doctor wants to delivery me at 39 weeks, and I'm ok with that. Since he thinks I won't dialted anymore I have a doctors appointment next week I hope theirs a change in my cervix.
You still have a couple weeks left. Are they inducing you? Is this your first? I am 38wks Tod and I'm 1-2cm dilated and 70% faced. Don't rush it unless it's for medical reasons baby will come when it's time
