37 weeks hospital gave me narcotics

I was wondering if anyone has been to the hospital and was given diludid or cephalexin or any other narcotic drugs from kidney infections or anything. Did it hurt your baby? I was there for 4 days they just kept giving it to me. I was in massive pain. They gave me a prescription for cephalexin for it until after I deliver but I don't wanna take it.

Yes, the narcotics are safe- provided they are used minimally and for short duration. If they sent you home with a script, just keep in mind to only take them as needed, flush the rest. I have been through kidney stones and an abdominal surgery while pregnant, was given meds, babies are fine.

Thank you ladies. I know it sounds extremely stupid to be like omg the hospital gave me meds its like duh lady but that place was so unprofessional. They didn't even monitor me. Nor figure out where this extreme spasm like pains where coming from they told me to get over it I'm pregnant. I can barely move Dx I keep trying Tylenol since I know that's safe! I will keep trying to flush them out I was worried my son would come out with breathing issues etc since I was giving the meds so close to birth

If the hospital gave it to you knowing that you are pregnant I'm pretty sure it's safe to take. Just get a second opinion from your ob, don't stress about it.. I know you don't want to be in pain so just take it. Or take Tylenol instead even tho that probably won't do much.
