40mg of Lortab while pregnant

I just found out I am pregnant and I have been taking 40 mg of Lortab a day for almost a year. When I went to the OB for the blood test I felt like I was being judged by the CNP & was told I would be sent to a perinatalogist. I just wanted to know if anyone knows what affects 40mg of Lortab a day can to to a 5 week old fetus and what would be a good taper schedule? I go back to the doctor next week, but I am so scared that I have already caused irreversible damage. PS - I take the meds for back pain caused by a car accident from 2 years ago. I was seeing a spinal surgeon who would up and down my dosage on a whim. First with 10mg 2x per day for 7 months, then 3x for 2 more, than 7.5mg 3x a day for 2 months after that. I realized that I took way more than perscribed of the 7.5s and started to see a pain management spec. who put me on 10 mg 4x a day. I stick to that schedule, but don't know if I should quit cold turkey. Please Help!! Sorry so long!

You and your baby should be fine.  Neither acetomenphen or hydrocodone is associated with fetal anomalies or long-term neurologic abnormalities.  Talk to you spinal surgeon about a taper regimen they they feel is appropriate.

Thanks for the response. I just found out today that I miscarried and I am so depressed that it was something I did. At least it helped to hear that it might not have been the meds.
