Hello,
Babies positioning can change throughout the pregnancy. The position of the baby around 36 weeks is usually where they will stay. The suggestion that your baby was "low" is meaningless and not something you should worry about.
All fetal measurements are an estimation. The earlier a fetal ultrasound the more accurate the estimated age. As babies advances in age there is more variation from baby to baby and the measurements are less reliable. Remember, your baby is being compared to a large group of other normal babies and there is a range of normal. So when they measure a femur length, head circumferenc or abdominal circumference you will usually see some variation in weeks. This is normal and doesn't change ones dating.
Best regards,
Dr. Downing
My baby has measured a week ahead since they first did an ultrasound on me, but I think it all levels out in the end.....Im not sure about the positioning...but some people say that boys carry low??
