Well this is not your average question. I am scheduled to have a breast augmentation Aug 12th. My last period was July 13th. I just had a miscarriage in June so my husband I are waiting to ttc until December. In the mean time I thought it would be nice to have BA. Well this past weekend was my husbands birthday. We had a huge party. Well both of us were intoxicated so we had sex without protection twice. Now I'm worried I may be pregnant. I know its too early to tell and it may still be too early to tell when its time for my surgery. I don't know what to do. I want the surgery, but I want a baby too. I don't want to compromise the pregnancy. What should I do?

My only concern would be that if you did the BA and are pregnant, your breasts can change very quickly. It's one thing to get a BA and heal properly before getting pregnant than to be pregnant and get a BA done at the same time.

I have had 2 friends get this done and it was a back-saver for them (bad back pain)! One of them was also able to breastfeed when she did have her child years later. The other just got married, no kids yet.

Thanks everyone for your advise. My doctor told me that there was no waiting period on after my augmentation to have kids. She even said that its better to do it before. The nurse that was helping me had had hers done and was now pregnant. She said that she has had no issues, only that she got a cup size bigger. I am a small C and going up to a D. So not that much bigger. I think I will be ok. I think that I will have a blood test done before just to rule out the pregnancy since a HPT will probably be neg.

I also wanted to say. it's UNLIKELY if you are pregnant that you'll be far enough along at your surgery for it to cause issues with the baby, however it would likely affect how your augmentation turns out since breasts grow when pregnant.

I have a friend who JUST had her augmentation recently, and she found out recently she's preggo (soon after I think). So far she and baby are fine!

By the way, I'm waiting til after my babies because after my 3/4 kids, when I'm around 28 or 30 yrs old I'm getting a tummy tuck AND boob lift/job (I have 38D/DD's so I'll need both a small implant for fullness and lift) With my 2nd pregnancy now, I'm not really saggy but it's there. honestly, my SIL is WAY worse and she's never been pregnant.

I would also wait to get the BA.  Have you talked to your plastic surgeon about your desire to have children, I have heard that they would rather see you after you have them. I do not have them myself (haha, would love to get them) but I know my boobs stretched out alot from having a baby, and if you are going to spend good money on them, than maybe you should wait until after you have kids.

If you think you are pregnant, you should definitely wait until you know for sure. Better safe than sorry! I'm sorry about your loss and if you are pregnant again, it would be a blessing and I'm sure the BA could wait. =)
