Get a membrane sweep. I had one with 3 out of 4 kids. Worked in 1-2 days.
I think every pregnancy and delivery are different. I'm on my 4th pregnancy and it is completely different from my first 2 kids. My first was an induction that lasted 18 hours but if I had the choice between that and a c-section I would choose an induction and hope for the best. C-section do take longer to recover from they are considered major surgeries.
You can ask your doctor for an elective c section. I have anxiety problems as well. I chose an elective induction. It's really not as bad as it seems.the contractions are pretty intense though. A few hours after I was induced my dr broke my water. My labor lasted 14 1/2 hours (after about 8 I chose to have epidural) my labor also ended in a c section due to failure to progress. I'm now 9 weeks with my 2nd. I'm going for a repeat c section due to me getting my tubes tied as this one will be my last. Your Dr may or may not accept your request. Honestly in my opinion. I wished I never had a Cesarean. The healing process is longer because it's considered a major surgery. And if you get pregnant again within the 2 years it takes your uterus to fully heal there could be a chance your uterus could rupture (though it doesn't happen often but it can) I could opt for a VBAC if my dr allows me to (many women have a successful VBAC After getting having a c section before the 2 years but most Dr's won't allow you to go into labor on you own for a VBAC. Consider your options. If you really want a c section then just ask your dr.
I'm 11 days overdue right now. I wish my body would go into labor naturally.. I'm waiting until 42 weeks for induction.
I'm sorry to hear your sister had such a tough experience with induction. Just remember tho that everyone is different. My experience with being induced with my son was good. I was induced at 39 weeks because my fluid was low. They started me on pitocin at 6 pm and he was born at 8:16 the following morning. It all depends on your body and how well it responds to everything. My sister was induced and it took almost 2 days. Like I said, everyone is different. I'm being induced again on the 28th if my baby girl doesn't come on her own. Personally, I would rather have a very long labor and be able to have her naturally, than get a c section. My friend recently had to have an emergency c section and she said the recovery was just awful. She couldn't even stand up off her couch without the help of her husband, let alone care for her newborn on her own without his help either.
you can decline the induction. some babies are not born until 41 or 42 weeks. You can let them know that you would like to wait until 41 weeks to schedule.
