I didn't get an epideral. The hospital I delivered at wanted me to eat first then I was able to shower. I wore loose pj pants after the first day because i was very very sore.

I never got an epidural, and i got a shower bout an hour after delievery. I had pyjamas but had to het OH to bring me nightgowns because i had a catheter fitted for the first 24 hours. :) as soon as I got that horrible thing removed I had.another shower and got into my maternity pants and normal tshirt to go home :) xx

It actually differs per hospital. I would ask about their policy on gowns.

You can shower as soon as you want, once (epidural wears off and you can walk) I found that it is best to just wear the hospital gown and panties because of how much you will be bleeding. I packed stuff and then never wore it. Obviously they give you clean stuff after birth.

I was fine to shower before I left the birth center 6 hours after delivery. I've heard hospitals can be a lot stricter, unfortunately. Wearing pants really depends on your level of comfort. I wore my jeans home afterward. Looser pants would have been nicer (pajama pants sound great) since I had quite a bit of stitching up down there. I just didn't have any that fit.

Probably would be a good idea to bring a skirt and pajama pants and see which is more comfortable for you, depending on stitches, etc. A shower feels great! Bring a nice smelling soap or moisturizer so you'll feel all fresh.

Hi there. I showered hours later when i was settled in to my post pardum room. Also i brought night gowns and a robe because honestly i was so sore down below that i wanted nothing touching me down there. But everyone's different so pack what you feel you'll be comfortable again. Im due in 20 days and again backed night gowns and a robe. Good luck.
