I live in Los Angeles. Yeah our lawyer thinks that we have a good case.
Kelly87 what part of Cali are you in?
I'm in Hemet (so cal about an hour from Riverside)
I'm sorry about all of your stress, and hope it gets better. Hopefully you haven't continued to be exposed (your levels haven't gone up I mean) and hopefully you'll get compensated by your jerk of a landlord/mgr.
We are in California and all our friends and family are in Florida. We just moved here so we dont really know anyone. I looked at plane tickets and they are just too much.
can you take a trip for the weekend to friends or relatives in another city?
Oh dear! That is very stressful!!! Well if there is some type of medication, that is safe during pregnancy, to help alleviate those lead levels, then definitely get re-tested.
Yeah well I already have evidence. We filed a small claims for the maximum for all of our rent and deposit and medical bills and breach of contract and other things. Our court date is May 8th. So not only am I dealing with this im also stressed about this lawsuit. He doesnt want to settle. He thinks he is going to win but we have evidence that he rented us a unhabitable unit and we have the health inspectors and the housing inspectors reports and pictures to prove it. we are moving as soon as we get our money back. We are all packed up. just waiting for the money to move :(
There is not a single place you could stay? A friend's home maybe? Or could you guys "go camping" so to speak. Here's an idea---tell your landlord he needs to pay for a hotel for you guys for a week or until they can fix the problem!
I remember that when you told us about the lead poisoning, you mentioned your body will absorb it as calcium within 72 hours, right? So getting re-tested may not make a difference. But if you want a lawsuit against your landlord then you need the evidence.
