Anxiety Attacks

I am 5 weeks along, and already having a major problem with anxiety! It is quite annoying because I get these attacks right before I go to sleep, and then they wake me up. I get so up tight over the silliest things!
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions other than warm tea/milk or a bath? Because those don't really work for me.

Thanks for the advice, ladies. I really don't want to go the therepist / medication route just because I can calm myself down pretty easily. I will try the cups of water, though.

I used to see a psychologist and this really helped alot she told me to drink one glass of water really fast and another cup slow while looking around me and telling myself that everything is ok right before bed or whenever I felt the attack coming on hope it can help you

I had them a lot in the beginning of my pregnancy. If you're super stressed that can cause them too on top of the hormones. My husband lost his job 2 weeks after we found out I was pregnant on top of being a maid of honor in a wedding ($$$) and having 3 grandparents pass away all within the first 2 months. What helped me was baths. Lots of baths. Just try and stay relaxed even though crazy is going on all around you.

I already suffer from anxiety before I was even pregnant but with your hormones being off the walls it makes it worse to control it let alone calm down easily. I learned on my own methods on how to deal with it, you just really need to find a quiet place and just breathe even if its easier said than done. OB aren't one to prescribe meds right away so they'll throw out other alternatives like talking to a therapist (which isn't so bad, they can help you a lot) and if that doesn't work and your therapist agrees then thats when they suggest meds. But medication is usually a last resort and they will prescribe you meds that are safe for you and the baby. Anxiety attacks are no joke while being pregnant it stresses the baby out because he/she knows you are not feeling well so being as calm as possible will always make it pass a lot faster. I hope my advice works & good luck. :)
