Anxiety Medication.

So before I was pregnant I had extreme anxiety, and was on and off medication. Didnt really like the effects - I was either a mindless zombie, or super nice and happy. And for the first 2 trimesters my anxiety had been pretty low. But, now I'm 35 weeks and the anxiety is so bad. I get it for big things, small things, or i'll even just be sitting watching tv and get hit with a huge wave of anxiety for no reason. I've started scratching my self.. my hands and legs have little rashes and scabs on then from my scratching and I've been getting very upset obviously - and unfortunately taking it out on my boyfriend.

My question is; The doctor said there are medications that I can take that are safe during pregnancy.. I have 5 weeks left. And I has asked "I know you say its safe, but is there still a possibility of it having an effect on the baby." And he said you never know for sure, but what we know at the time being - it seems safe. So the question is let my anxiety and me being upset possibly harm the baby, or take medication and possibly harm the baby. Anyone have any experience in this? What did you do, and how did it effect you and the baby?

Thanks. :)

If you did want to try medication Lamictal is one of the safest out there, and my doctor said it was safe. It only has one possible side effect.

Thanks. :)  Yeah, I see these commercials all the time - did you take this pill while pregnant and have this happen to the baby? Lol. Scares me.

I'll maybe try some benadryl.
