I loved the "AB roller" It is basically a big wheel with handles sticking out of it. Can be purchased at walmart or target (possibly, I got mine at walmart a few years ago for like $8.00 ) You could try a sporting goods store.
Basically, you kneel on the floor, leaning on the handles & roll the wheel in & out. At first, you won't be able to go very far. It is really hard! killer on your knees though (try a folded towel or rug under them)
When I actually used this I loved it. My waist was at it's thinnest & arms looked great too. It only took a couple of weeks before I saw some good results. ( I did a few reps everyday, building up as I went along)
Cardio is also good for flab burning, but it takes long & is sweaty hard work. Treadmills & gym memberships are expensive. You could always go outside & run, but then you need a sitter. All the reasons why I first turned to the ab wheel.
like everyone else said, do crunches. but crunches are worthless unless they are in confuction with cardio. you have to burn any fat you may have before you can tighten muscles. you can tighten muscles all you want, but if you dont burn the fat first, you won't see results. fat lies on top of muscles, unfortunately :(
also, you cant burn fat if you are consuming excess. you have to have a healthy diet. i suggest (like my personal trainer told me) to eat small and often (every 3 hours) this will keep your metabolism up.. if you eat large and not often your metabolism crashes and doesn't metabolize your meals properly when you do eat them ( i should tell myself this, i know )
i'd recommend wrapping your belly when you do cardio, work out, etc.. i don't know if it'll help 6 months after baby but its worth a shot. its what i swear by. ALL of my friends that didn't use a belly wrap still have loose skin.
also laser skin tightening..its not surgery, but of course *i* would suggest anything laser related =)
BUT you're still skinnier than I've ever been, and you look great!
"No one"...girl, you are sadly mistaken. You are NOT the only one with loose skin...believe it or not, at 37 weeks 6 days *I* have loose skin on the bottom of my belly. It's getting tighter cause she's moving down, but it's still there. Believe me, you're only one of a LOT of women with belly flab from babies.
I think a lot of it is genetics. I *definitely* have loose skin from my babies (especially after my first) and I know that NO amount of exercise or crunches is gonna make it go away. =(
Some people are just lucky that way! My best friend is a mom of FOUR (like me) and she still looks awesome in a bikini!!! Me, I wouldn't wear one on a dare.... no way!!
BTW, you are beautiful and i'm sure whta bothers you is barely noticeable to anyone else! Just be confident and proud and that makes you look hotter than anything!
I just dont get why no one else I know who has a baby doesnt have this lose skin... my sister, niether of my 3 friends that just had a baby after Cole was born, my other sister, mom2ariana.. No one has it but me, im confused
Spanx makes a great body slim! Most department stores do. They are right skin doesn't go away from exercise, it's skin. Fat goes away from exercise. If our skin went away from exercise we would all be in trouble and exercise would be dangerous. You can tone the muscle under the skin which may change the appearance but only a tummy tuck really would get rid of that excess skin which you said you weren't interested in. I can't blame you, apparently it's really painful.
You could buy a body slimmer for $10-$40 at any department store, wal-mart, target, etc...it will slim your belly and waist and give you a clean line and be completely invisible under your clothing...it's useful to smooth small imperfections like loose skin or flatten a noticeably belly button, stuff like that :).
Well on the Exercise nd Health Forum they have told me there is no way to get rid of lose skin other then a tummy tuck which i refuse to do. i dont believe in un needed surgeries. So I guess Ill have to suck it up, I will do as much sit ups that I can, and hopefully ill feel better knowing that im trying lol...
DB has offered to buy me a gym membership, cause he already has one, but I know there costly and I dont have that much extra time on my hands and dont wanna waste the money, so i turned him down.
Thanks girls :)
Crunches, sit ups, what the army calls "rockies", where you lean back like you're going up or down from a sit up and just twist side to side...all abs! Lay on your back, put your hands under your butt, lift your feet about six inches and kick like you're swimming, up to about a 45 degree angle or so, works your legs and abs.
TREADMILL!!!! Cardio, weights, eptiliptical machine. Sounds like you just want to tone up, I am sure if you start running, lifting weights now that you will see a diference. I am no expert but I have been there and this is what helped me!!! Good luck!!! If this fails for the tummy use spanks..lol
