Anyones DH or BF a Sports FIEND?!!!

This isn't off topic because the total question is this: Is anyone's husband or boyfriend a huge sports fan and already making plans (or done it already) to dress your soon to be little one in they're fave. team colors and logos?

DH and I were talking last night about me getting him a new Chargers Jersey (LT) for his bday and he wants to get TJ a jersey and binkie with chargers logos. (he only wears the NFL jerseys.. the kind that cost freakin $70-100+)

Hes all about decorating our son with ANYTHING chargers!!! ugh.. men. I have to say, before I met him I HATED sports, but I'll watch a game every so often now. and I make the superbowl food so he's lucky... I make GOOD superbowl food. (nachos, wings, burgers, everything yummy!)

The thing about Madden though is that these guys can play it the entire year and it never gets old. It's a very complex, intricate game!!! The graphics this year are amazing. I glanced over at one point, did a double-take, and said, "Is that real or the game?"

But I still think $60 is a LOT to pay for a video game, no matter how long it lasts.

SOOO funny to see that other peoples' hubbies were out getting the game at midnight, too! I made DH come to bed early though (he couldn't get out of work or he definitely would've).

You know what DH calls me during football season? "His Football Widow". Because if you try to talk to him during a game it's like talking to a ghost!

Lol, that is too funny! DH is very considerate of me, he generally only plays games when I am at work or at night when I go to bed. But I don't usually mind them, I only get annoyed with them every once in a while. But I also have a nice TV upstairs in my bedroom, so if he is playing I just go watch what I want to watch :). It really makes life much easier

jennymay~ that sounds cool, unfortunately the blockbusters in my town have been closed. AND when they were open, the newest games would dissapear right away so he wouldn't have gotten a chance to get them for a while.

my DH used to play video games about 6-8 HOURS a day when we first got together (we were 16) this lasted for about 2 years with me slowly getting him to work his way down to 5hrs or so.. and then now he plays about 1-2 hrs at a time, then I watch tv, then he plays another hour or two..

he's also a Guild Wars fanatic. he's not too big a fan of WOW.. but LOVES GW.

Well my DH is a little more conservative, but he has a PS3 also, the better one, an Xbox 360, and old PS2, and old Nintendo...Needless to say he is a video game addict ;). But he doesn't waste the money on new games. He gets the game pass from Blockbuster, that way when he beats the game in a couple days, he just returns it for something different, no wasted money :)

well, i just found some nascar stuff! complete baby bedding w/curtains and valance...it's on western bedding . com
of course, w/o the rug it's nearly $400, with rug it's $590!

but it's soooooooo cute!!!!!

and it's not driver specific, so if you can get it, it might be worth it, esp since rug can get years of use, along with curtains?

My husband is a huge race car fan.  He even has a  road race car and a drag car, and he does both things!
This is our first boy, so you can all imagine what the decoration will be:  race cars!
Bad thing is that I cant seem to find the nursery /crib stuff for race cars, I can only find "cute" cars and transpostation themes...But im not giving up!

Jenny~ Just to add... My husband had his PS3 reservation for 3-4months, and almost didn't get it until the person before him on the list managed to get bumped off for not having the $$. SO he paid $500 for it, then he decided he wanted the one with MORE memory and went and exchanged it for the $600 version! I paid $200 towards it for a birthday present for him.  He also has 2 controllers, a wireless charger (his mom got it for him) and he has COD4, GTA all of those newer games...

I swear. I finally put my foot down and told him that until I get my bed he doesn't get ANYTHING new..> The last new thing he got was the IPOD Nano, which I bought cause i promised it to him for Xmas but didn't get it for him til like May cause I had lost my job before Xmas.

I am afraid I have to side with the guys on this one. I am just as big of a sports fan as DH is. We love the Broncos and the Nuggets, he has already bought a unisex Nuggets outfit for the baby :).

Joy and leighanne143 - lol, I thought my DH was the only crazy one! He left at midnight to go get his game and didn't go to bed until after 5 am!! He took the day off of work today and all his buddies are coming over to play. He calls it his Madden-Holiday. Now I like sports, but the video games are so boring!!

Great stories ladies!!!

Wow Joy.. DH wanted NFL09 for PS3 but I put a stop to any game buying for the next few months until we are settled. Like he needs to spend $50-60 on a stupid game, just to beat it in 1-2weeks and sell it back for 1/3 price.

I just asked DH what he'd do if I bought TJ Raiders stuff (I like the colors..not the team) and he said (Jokingly) that he'd kill and bury me... AFTER TJ is born!
Oh.. and if our next child is a girl, she will be getting miniature Pink and White chargers stuff too!! according to DH.

*I* wanted to do john deere, but OMG it was soooo expensive! and i thought about just finding solid colors for the crib, even more expensive!!!   so i'm in the baby looney toons(not that thats been easy either lol)

lol neither of us are fiends, but i prefer texas a&m, df prefers U of K(wildcats), so df's mom(who lives in ky), is sending us an outfit for baby to have his pix taken in...;)

right now, we're watching the olympics....but we both prefer h/s and ncaa sports...you know, b4 it becomes all about the $???

we'll probably do the bue and gold colors when alex is older, but i'm not decking itout!!! my brother has all the wildcats stuff, and it was just sooo bright!!!! comforters with the tiger slashes, curtains with the slashes, omg, it was crazy! of course, now he only has the comforters(he's 20), but i think his room is all mossy oak(which was an option for me, but df said no lol...)

OMG my husband is a huge Bears fan!  I can't stand to watch a football game! He so wants a boy (so I know we will be having a girl) we still have a ways to go before we find out, we are only 10 weeks.  DH is dead set on a Bears room for the baby.  I finally agreed if we have a boy he can do the room his way as long as the walls were navy and chocoltate brown--not orange.  He has already found a Chicago Bears mobile on ebay.  At one point he wanted to name the baby Devon if we have a boy after Deven Hester but I threw that one out quickly!

DH is a die hard Seattle Seahawks fan and has been since he was little. He's been a season ticket holder for 6 years now and I have to admit I've totally gotten into it with him. I had season tickets too for the past 3 years - of course I'll be sitting this season out, as someone has to be home w/DS! - and we had such a blast at the games and tailgate parties. I think it's cute that he's so into it and I don't see anything wrong w/being passionate about something, as long as it's not at the expense of anyone else. For Fathers Day this past year (I was about 5 months along at the time) I got him one of those really expensive officially-liscensed Seahawks onsies for our little guy. It was way too expensive and impractical, but he looooved it and always talks about how excited he is to spend Seahawks Sunday w/his son! I also got DS a sleeper at a secondhand store that has the Seahawks logo all over it (what a find!!) and also fleece sleeper that has footballs all over it and says "dad is my hero!" - so cute! I can't wait to go to a Seahawks game as a family and deck out DS in Seahawks apparel to match his parents! :)

Well, me and my hubby love basketball.  We are here in Houston, so we love the Houston Rockets and can't wait for October (Pre-Season) to begin.  Yes, my husband is forced to watch things like the History Channel and Discovery, etc. (educational programs) until basketball season begins. LOL!

But we both like it so it's all good.  We get really into it.  But he REALLY gets into it.  So, once that starts, that is what all of our conversations will consist of.

My son is older and from a previous marriage.  So, hubby and I have 4 girls together, so we have never had any team stuff for them.  Don't know what or how he'd be if we had a boy......

I've never been a huge sports fan ... but hubby has always loved his Carolina Panthers.  He also watched a lot of wrestling with his son before I moved up here.  I thought wrestling, especially, was stupid and never, ever watched it.  I was sort of forced to the one night and have gradually grown to like it (especially now that we found TNA Impact on Spike ...much more action than the WWE/F).  I'm yelling at the TV more than hubby now!  lol  Could be preggo hormones tho.  =D

I would *love* to have our baby (whether it's a boy or girl) be decked out in little Panthers gear.  I'm sure hubby would even settle for letting him/her wear Jaguars colors too (my hometown).  He likes the kitty teams.  =D  But painting an entire room that way?  Probably not ...we're not *that* football crazy.  =D

Ohhh.. Ummm..

I am sorry, but I am on the guy's side w/ this one..

I have been checking out newborn New England Patriots Gear for my son's take home outfit, and the name "Brayden" that I like, I would call him Brady for short.. Like Tom Brady. N.E. Patriots QB.. (quarterback)

I am a football fanatic. Ex and I went to Gillette Stadium (home of the Patriots Baby!!) last season for the Pats/Steelers game (he's a HUGE Pittsburgh Steelers fan.. Lame!), and it was one of the best days for me EVER.. Tickets are impossible to get and I believe he paid $800.00 for the 2 nose bleed section seats we got.. And I would do it again and sit there gladly. Especially since the Pats rocked the Steelers.. I LOVED That!

Anyway, I love football.. So I totally get into the whole jersey dressing thing too.. If I can afford a NFL jersey for my son, he will have one.. =P

My Dh likes sports, but I have to say that i am the bigger fan out of the 2 of us.  We like our Cincy Reds and Bengals (we live about 90 minutes from Cincy).  Neither he nor  I have a preference on whether or not Landen will wear sports themed clothing.  DH is more into four-wheelers and such.  He insisted that we do the nursery in a dump-truck/bull dozer theme (I was kinda hesitant at first, but found a cute nursery set), which we are working on.  i will post pics when we are finished.

He is first in line!!! LOL! It's his brother's store (Game Stop). DH left around 9:45 to get in line by 10pm.

When GameStop has a "game launch" they stay up ALL night. My MIL made cinnamon rolls for the workers at GameStop since they'll be up all night. People get prizes and can play the games in the store, purchase the game, etc.

My husband wants a BOY so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He loves the Chiefs (we live in KC, just about 10-15 minutes away from the stadium) and wanted to do a Chiefs nursery but I vetoed it. Maybe, if we have a boy, when he'd be older they can do a sports-theme bedroom! LOL!

DH is absolutely giddy about football season.

My hubby is a huge baseball fan, he watches other sports but he's so into baseball. The day we found out we we're having a boy he talked about how he'll teach him to play and how he's going to take him to games, mind you we live in Oregon and his team is the LA Dodgers so we'd have to go there to see a game. He had everything picked out in his mind. And before he was born he had several dodger outfits, booties, hats, everything they have for a baby in dodger wear he has it! I threatend(sp?) to buy him SF Giants gear but he got so mad literally. He takes his dodgers seriously LoL =]
