Asthma Flare

I have asthma... I am 25.6 weeks.  I began wheezing on Wednesday evening. I currently take albuterol inhaler and pulmicort... the doctor added prednisone due to the flare.  I've rested and haven't felt better at all, I'm unable to sleep also.  I don't know if it is safe to use the nebulizer or not? I plan to call the doctor back again tomorrow, but in the meantime have any of you used the nebulizer during your pregnancy...?

Thank you Sunshine... do you use it like you did prior to pregnancy? I used to use it every four hours when I was wheezing like this...

Yes... it is just the albuterol.  And that's what I figured... Also, if I go to the ER - I know that is what they will do..  THANKS

Phill,  the nebulizer just delivers the albuterol in a better form,  doesn't it?  It's still albuterol?

If your doc knows you're on that,  it sounds like it would probably be safe to take.  Do you have an after hours nurse you could call to confirm that?

If you can't get your breathing under control and you feel like you can't catch your breath it's an emergency situation - you can always go to the ER and they will treat you right away.

Best wishes with it.  My sons and husband ALL have asthma and it's such a blessing to live in this age with effective medication.
