what is the effect of lack of sleep on your temps?does it make it rise or lowers the temp down?

It rises. Your bbt is your resting or waking temp. You are supposed to get a minimum of 5 hours of sleep for your temperature to be considered accurate. You are also supposed to take it at the same time every morning or it rises.

You're welcome! tcyof . com has a free trial where you can put in your numbers for a month and it's like a tutorial or crash course on charting. I found it really helpful. My first chart was covered with things I was doing wrong as far as charting. That's where I got my info on the hours required for sleep. It tells you based on your temps when you ovulated as well so you can get the hang of it.

I was told by my dr is that your body needs to get 8 hours of sleep aday b/c your body will get off track and can affect your period.. I was working third shift and was not getting the sleep I needed and had a very hard time getting preg... as soon as i stopped working third shift I ended up preg 3 months later...
