Baby Looks...

I had posted something on facebook on one of my statuses...i commented back to my cousin that said..."im hoping he looks like little Mason!"...i was talking about how i hope my son looks like my nephew. My nephew is adorable, he has wavy dark brown hair, big brown eyes and a smile that can convince me to buy him anything! He's my only nephew ((until i got married)) and ive always babied him! Anywho DH brought up the comment last night and said that hes offended cause it seems like i want our son to look like my side of the family and that i think his side of the family doesnt make cute babies. OK my comment wasnt intended to hurt his or anyone elses feelings, i had just hoped he looks like my Mason. It could happen LOL. Mason looks just like my sister ((his mom)) and looks like my brother ((my brother & sister look alike)). My sisters other 2 kids look like her as well and my yougest sisters daughter looks like her. So im gonna go out on a limb here and say we have some strong family genes! HOWEVER, ive seen pictures of my husbands brothers' kids and they all look alike! All 3 of his brothers kids have dark tans, dark eyes and big ears like their fathers! This is so racist to my own nationality, but i am so hoping my son DOESNT look samoan! My sisters and i dont look like we are samoan and i am thankful for that LOL! Im not saying im not proud to be samoan, because i am...im just happy i dont look like one! DHs nieces and nephews on the other hand all look samoan and i have never said this to DH but...NO i dont want our son to look like his side of the family! DH doesnt look like his brothers so im ok if our son looks like him...but secretly im hoping he looks more like me! My mom keeps telling me not to say that because the more i hate his side of the family the more our son will look like HIS side of the family...my mother is superstitious.
Is it wrong that im hoping my baby looks like my nieces and nephew and NOT his?? Is it wrong of me to think his nieces and nephews arent as cute as mine?? I never say it to him, but when he shows me pictures of them online all i can think about is..."OMG! God please let my baby look like me!" I know i probably sound like a complete a-hole right now, but this is how i feel "/

Lol i know what you mean! I honestly dont think my husbands nieces and nephews are cute. I know thats horrible to say, but im just being honest. Now id never tell him i dont think hes cute lol but its ok to think it to myself. One of his nieces is tan with super light brown hair & big ear...im like WTF that is freakin scary! The other one looks like a little boy with black curly hair & yes, big ears.

I couldnt stand my husbands side of the family for the longest time. His family said mean things about me calling me superficial and materialistic because i model and have fake boobs. But it was said before they even met me. He would show me pictures of his niece and nephews and they werent very cute to me. After i met his family they loved me. His niece and nephews were very loving towards me, but i still didnt think they were cute lol. I hoped and hoped and hoped Milanalyn would look like me and well she looks half like me and half like her daddy. But thank heavens she doesnt look anything like my husbands niece and nephews! I have a niece who i absolutely cherish and i spoil her and give her hugs and kisses when i see her, but i dont do that with my husbands niece and nephews. I think its normal to root for your side of the family when it comes to looks UNLESS you hate your side of the family and love his lol.

Hahahaha! I am the same way! Kids are so cute when theyre little then when some of them have grown into their looks and start losing alot of baby fat...youre like...what a shame! LOL! Yeah im sure i will think my kid is cute, i look at his ultrasounds and think hes cute lmao...i also try to find similarities...like i know for a fact he has my chin LOL!

LMAO!! thats great!! It takes alot for me to say a kid is cute, i mean babies are adorable of course, but once they hit 2, im like umm wth happened, like my old best friend, wow is that kid ugly,, lol.. Im such a horrible person.  Haha lil salvages!! thats great. I mean its almost positive that when you have your baby, you are gonna think he is the most adorable person in the world, even if he does look like Dhs family lol.

Lol @ Malia! I am hoping i have some strong genes too! Hearing that makes the superstitions my mother has drilled in my head go away! Im constantly thinking about what my baby is going to look like and i always pray he looks like me or someone in my family lol.

Hahaha Ammanda i dont blame you for not wanting your kid to look like a redneck with buck teeth! My husbands nieces and nephews look like little savages...OMG i feel so bad for saying that, but its true! And yeah baby Cole looks like his daddy, but be glad Drews side of the family is good looking...unlike my husbands side of the family LOL! I never tell my husband his nieces and nephews are cute...i just say "awww" and go back to what i was doing LMAO!

Lol, Im probably bad too, so in not one for advice, but I was the complete opposite, I didnt want my son to look like my mom or my nephew(he looks like a redneckwith red hair and buck teeth, jsut like his farmer daddy lol... I hoped and prayed that my son would look like his dad.  my DB looks just like his dad, and his dad looks just like his dad. they have really strong genes.. thank god, Cole was a spitting image of DB when he was born. and everywhere i go all I hear is "Cole looks just like Drew" lol sometimes im sad that he has nothing from me yet, but DBs a great looking man, and although this sounds bad, DBs dad is one hunk himself, hes 40 and looks like hes 24 lol...  Id just keep doing what your doing, and hoping and praying, but keep it a secret from DH, lol.. I sound horrible with this advice, but i know how you feel.. lol...  I hate when people show me there kids and i have to be like "oh yea there adorable" when really im thinking "wtf".. again.. I sound bad.. lol.. im digging myself in a whole. lol....

I absolutley refused for my oldest daughter to look like her father. I swore it wouldn't happen every day I was pregnant and when I had her (and now at 3) she is a miniature version of me! I do not see anything wrong with it. This pregnancy I wished for my baby to look like her daddy. Didn't happen. Again she looks like me. Guess I just have strong genes.
