Baby hats

I'm having a girl and the outfit I have for her to come home in came with a head band and not a hat. My grandma told me babies have to have hats to come from the hospital in. Is that true or is that something old people just say? I'm due September 2nd goin by my last ultrasound but I figured if its cool then I could just bundle her up til I get her to the car. That should be fine right?

I think its just the feeling that keeping baby bundled means they will stay safe. I work in child care and the most paranoid mommas seem to layer their kids no matter what time of year it is!!

Idk lol my grandma has been being over dramatic my whole pregnancy I'll take one just in case but even when they gave me a list of things me and my baby will need at my appt a hat wasn't listed on there. My grandma also told me having your hands above your head can wrap the cord around the babies neck and that's not true lol

You don't have to have one. They usually have one on the babe after its born in the hospital to keep their temp up. But you don't have to have one on when your leaving.

The hospital will mainly be focused on baby being in the carseat correct and you putting it in the car the correct way . My baby boy left swaddled with no hat amd he was fine .
