Is this from NT scan + blood test? If so, it's not 'positive', it just means you have a 1 in 252 chance of having a baby with DS. In the UK that would be classified as low risk (you have to be more than 1 in 150 to be called high risk here). To put it another way, your chance of having a baby with DS is 0.003%, or you have a 99.997% chance of having a baby without DS.
I had a 1 in two chance that my son would have downs and he does it's a little more hard work but I wouldn't change him for the world. My friend had a 1 in 3 chance and her little one didn't have it. These tests give a really high false positive rate. And there are people who have had a higher chance and baby has been fine. I choose not to opt for amniocentesis as I had previously miss carried and didnt want to take the chance again. Did you have a quad test or was it just down to the nuchal fold?
I had a "positive" result but I just prayed and did more tests. More accurate results stated there was no abnormalities in my son. I did a blood test that could detect the babies blood and could be tested. Don't remember the name of the test though. Everything will be ok. Just pray and stay healthy love.
Those screenings aren't the most accurate. They cause a lot of unnecessary stress. I would see if the Harmomy test is available as a testing option instead of doing an amniocentesis or cvs. It's non invasive so carries no risk of miscarriage.
No problem glad to be of help :) I hope everything goes the way you hope. I know it is a really hard situation o be in and it's not bad to be mad/upset I think I cried for 2 hours solid and now I I think back and think why? X
