Bed Rest Survival

So my doctor put me on bed rest until further notice. I do have a doctors appointment on Wed. 17, so hopefully they release me. On the mean time, what do you suggest to survive bed rest? I am so tired of laying down and I change position everytime I'm tired but I still seem to get tired. Is there anything you suggest I do to keep me distracted?

1hope4mom- that all depends on why you miscarried. Bedrest won't prevent a miscarriage in which there is a genetic anomaly with the embryo or with blood-clotting disorders, etc. The best thing is to find out why you kept miscarrying (if you don't know already). Most women are put on bedrest for continual bleeding, incompetent cervix, if they're at risk for preterm labor, hematomas, etc.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I am worried about miscarring. First of all, I did fertility treatment which resulted in having 4 heartbeats... maybe 5. I am almost 7 weeks and for the last couple of weeks I've been having brown discharge and for the last 2 days it has just gotten heavier and pink. I have been resting and it seems to be stopping. I however do not have any cramping, only the normal pregnancy cramps. In the past weeks I have ignored the doctor orders to rest and stay off my feet so I'm guessing that is what's causing this heavier discharge.

Hi, just wanted to know why they put u on strict bed rest. Wondering b/c I found out Memorial Day last year I was pregnant but ended up miscarrying, after being in lots of pain. Found out March 30th I was pregnant seen baby n heart beat but at nine week checkup my baby didin.t have a heart beat. This was complete heart break as I was looking forward to my due date on Dec.7th, 2009. Just wondering if maybe I should consider bed rest next time after all this.

lol...

GRose, I'm almost 7 weeks along. I can't imagine what would happen to me if I was to be on bed rest for a very long time.

I've tried doing party bags for my daughters party. That kept me busy for a while. I have also taken so many naps today. They put me on strict bed rest so that means no housework which I hate b/c husband is really not helpful in that area. Anyway thanks for the suggestions.

When I was put on bedrest with my last son I could not actually stay in bed. I just stopped working so I wasn't on my feet all day. I really would not know what to do. Do you know how to crochet? you could try that and read, crossword puzzles, sukdoku puzzles. Just a few suggestions. You could lay on the couch and watch some movies. you could play some online games. Every now and then I get on pogo.com and play spades. You can play with other people or against the computer. There are tons of games to play.

I'm sorry, you've got to be so bored. I guess if I were on bed rest I would read, do crossword puzzles, surf the internet (that could be dangerous though, dont get into shopping online lol), get hubby to play some board games with you when he is home. You could work on the baby book, there are usually a few pages that you can fill out before baby comes.
If I think of anything else I'll let you know.
How far along are you?
