Hi!
I totally understand your concerns! I am not sure why your doctor selected the medications he/she did -- there can be many reasons including cost and availability in addition to the indications for which the medications are prescribed. MANY doctors prescribe Estradiol during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, and it seems that is what your doctor is going for. There is fairly good data suggesting that the majority of oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapies are "safe" during pregnancy, although they are also almost universally contraindicated. What I am saying is that inadvertant exposure to these medications during pregnancy has never been shown to cause birth defects. One notable exception to this rule is
Thalidomide which is a medication that should NEVER be used, and probably NEVER is used.
I suspect that your doctor has valid reasons for his/her recommendation and I would encourage you to discuss your concerns with him/her if possible.
I hope all goes very well for you!

I have had a couple clients come in with the bicorbuate uterus . One that sticks out in my mind has had 2 healthy pregnancys one on each side of her uterus. But she did not have any problems conceiving and as you were on fertility treatments. I'm not sure. What to tell you. But I would discuss with you doctor what you found on the internet and what she wants you on this medications and let her now your feelings now before anything can happen. Congrats and good luck keep me updated.
I actually had a partial bicornate uterus. My dr called it a septum because it didn't completely separate into 2 halves. Before I had found out about it I had my son who is almost 4 without any issues then started having multiple miscarriages after we decided to try again. A fertility specialist is who finally noticed the septum and removed it. And I was on folic acid baby aspirin prenatals estradiol and progesterone until 12 weeks and now just take prenatals and am 25 weeks. It sounds like your dr is keeping an eye on things and I will be praying for a safe a healthy pregnancy for you.
