They will automatically give you the shot around 28 weeks since babies blood type is unknown. If they Abby has your blood type after delivery you won't need another shot. If baby has positive blood type they will give you the shot. Don't freak yourself out , I'm rh- as well and I'm pregnant with my third healthy babyboy.
Even with what cnertl ^^ said that's only if baby is rh positive. If baby is rh negative like you then you won't even need the shots
That's supposed to say "even if you feel fine". The reason why is your body will produce antibodies against the baby when your blood meets baby. Im sure you can tell why that would be bad. My son was born slightly anemic do to having my antibodies in his blood stream but everything leveled out in a few months and he is a healthy 3 year old now.
I am rh- as well. 9 weeks away from my second baby. All that changes is around 28 weeks you get a nasty shot and again at labor. Just know though that any trauma to your belly if you feel fine go to er and tell them you are rh- and need the rohgam shot. Nobody told me that and I lost 3 babies around 12 weeks
