I will have my NP at our clinic check my BP tomorrow and I will talk to her about it she is pretty smart. I'm feeling slightly irritated with the way the OB pushed this off. I think it probably is a circulation issue but I will keep an eye on it. I normally have great BP 110/70 so if it's elevated I will certainly contact them ASAP again tomorrow.
I have the same problem even before pregnancy...even tho they are not cold. But the doctors found out it was Raynauds disease which is a circulation problem. I would still get in touch with your doctor to have things checked out.
Blue toe nails would be from lack of blood flow, not increased, If thats the only symptom you have I wouldn't go all crazy just yet, prop your feet up, make sure that when you are laying down that they are elevated just slightly above your heart. See if that helps! Sounds like a circulation issue, we are pregnant and are having a huge increase in blood volume right now! Get your B/P checked and keep an eye on those toes!
I would make an appointment with your doctor ASAP - insist on it, or seek a second opinion if your current doctor blows you off.
Itchy feet, protein in the urine, and blue toenails warrant medical investigation - how is your BP? Can you take it at the supermarket of phamacy?
Do NOT let your doctor pass this off. A combination of all these symptoms could point to a serious problem which needs to be ruled out (or confirmed).
Hi ladies, I haven't noticed any feet swelling yet. They have started to itch which makes me think they will swell...Yikes. I do have protein in my urine which could also be an impending sign of preclampsia. My OB didn't say much in the write back I think she just passes things off because she knows that this is my 5th pregnancy. She said they can turn colors from them growing...Right ha. And that doesn't explain the numbness...
could be from swelling or increased blood flow.
Not to freak you out, just a side note. I was watching The Doctors a few weeks ago and it was all about pregnancy. They said when your nails, hands or toes, go blue/purple it could be a sign of hypertension or preeclampsia. Not saying that's what's happening, but just a side note. Other than that, it's never happened to me, so I wouldn't really know personally. But I would just run that past your doctor.
Have your feet started swelling?? I don't know how early that starts happening, as I haven't directed much of my attention towards my feet at all during my pregnancy, maybe I should!
