Braxton hicks starting at 16 weeks??

I started having really bad pains in my lower abdomen around 16 weeks. I noticed it came and went. I brought it up to my doctor and he told me since I was on my second pregnancy that it's more common. Everyone else I talked to said I shouldn't be getting braxton hicks that early. Any one else have this problem? I'm currently 20 weeks now

What is rlp? My first pregnancy was a breeze so I really don't know much about some of the pains that come along with pregnancy

Braxton hicks aren't usually painful. You may be having rlp instead. And yes, they can start that early.
