Breast implants and breastfeeding? !

I got gel implants May of last year, they were put behind the muscle but the  implant was put through my areola. I asked my doctor if I will be able to breastfeed and he said he was not sure :( , I am currently 10 weeks and my boobs already grew a cup size which he said was a good sign. Any mom's with implants and have had any problems with breastfeeding?

no you will be able to breastfeed just fine but the only problem is because the implants your boobs might not ever go back down

Because the incision was done through areola it may have severed nerves/ducts, so whilst milk production is still normal, expressing milk (or getting milk to reach the nipple if ducts have been severed)  may be a struggle. I had implants 3 years ago (crease incision) and have been going to specialist preparing to breast feed classes for mom's with implants, because some have lost nipple sensation or have had areola incision it may be more difficult but not necessarily impossible to feed. hope this helps a bit more
And your breast appearance isn't changed by breastfeeding, it's affected by pregnancy so don't let anyone tell you otherwise and put you off trying to breastfeed :) xxx
