Brown Spotting 10DPO

My Husband and I have been TTC for the past 5 months and I have had two very early miscarriages (both before 6 weeks). After I went through this last miscarriages I have been searching for answers (since the Dr. thinks everything is ok, didn't want to run test and reassured me that next time I conceived it would be a successful pregnancy.)

I stated charting my cycles and on my last cycle, 10DPO I started spotting light brown and it continued through day 11 and 12 and then AF fully (red) arrived the next. After I ovulated my temp shifted and stayed above my coverline (even when I began to spot) it didn't fall below until AF fully arrived. Im wondering if I might have a luteal defect or low progesterone levels, esp. since I have had two very early miscarriages, or chemical pregnancy as the Dr. called them.

I have had 2 blighted oviums in the past 6 months of 2009. I am TTC, what could be causing this? I am so depressed. Should I consider IVF, the doctor will not do any further tests and told me that I need to calm down and I can have a baby. Do you think either my partner or I have a fertility issue. I am 27 he is 26 I have a child from a previous relationship. I feel like I am spinning my wheels.

Thank you so much for responding!!! I have an appt. with my Dr. on March 4th (seems like forever away!), I plan to talk with him about my concerns, take my charts in to show him and suggest checking my levels.  Im just wondering, if I happen to conceive before then should I call my Dr. as soon as I get a positive pregnancy test and suggest checking my progesterone level so that if it is low I can be put a progesterone supplement?

Hi!
I think your concerns are reasonable.  If you were my patient, I would check a quantitative beta HCG AND a progesterone level when you next conceive.
I feel fairly certain that you WILL conceive again since you have done so twice in the past 5 months.
I would probably also start you on some progesterone supplementation.  Some doctors start progesterone with ovulation, others wait until the pregnancy test is positive.  I kind of prefer the latter approach personally.
MOST miscarriages are caused by something going wrong in the development of the embryo, and approximately 75% of conceptions miscarry.  So, I think your prognosis for the future is excellent--keep trying!
Good luck!
