Car Seat question

Does the hospital check for expiration dates on car seats? The one we have now expires in 2015. My baby is due in January 2015. Does the carseat last through 2015 or expire in January?

Thanks ladies. Is my carseat good throughout 2015 or does it expire as soon as 2015 gets here?

It varies but everywhere I delivered always checked the date and weight limits if the car seat was convertible. I even had one at a birthing center and they willed me out and came to the car to check that it was a car seat for a newborn and it was not expired. I would ask the hospital by calling and not giving your name to see if it is routine at your hospital. That way you have time to buy another.

Some do some don't ...
Just try and see if you can sell the car seat and get a up to date one don't want to take no chances of not being able to bring baby home

Hi there.  My hospital didn't. I did have my car seat fitted by the agency that handled it in the area I lived in--  this was the health department in our house when I had my first son and the fire department who did it with my second. THEY would mention an expired car seat.

But the hospital where I delivered didn't check anything like that.

It IS worth making sure it is in the car just the right way and still good to use.

good luck
