Cats?

So, I've always heard that when your feeding the baby & have cats the cat can take the baby's breath away while trying  to get the bottle. I have my cat & he's just like my furry son. I don't want to get rid of him. But, I will if I have too. Does anyone have any information in this? Please let me know! Thanks!

Our cat is our sons best friend as well. From the day we brought him home she never left his side and we never had a single issue (such as her actually sleeping ON his face even though she slept in his crib with him)alot of people are just overly superstitious of cats!

Thank you all! This really helped me. I'm just going to have to teach my furry baby that he can't sleep with this little one!

I have a cat and he has always been my sons best freind. I set my sons cor and cradle up early and tought my cat he was NOT alowd in them ( cats are known for sleeping with the baby becouse its worm and sometimes laying on its head suffocating it ). I never had any problems with my cat wanting the milk and he never suffocated my baby and i am not the least bit worried about him suffocating this one either.

Yeah, I have two cats and I have heard about how they cuddle the baby for the milk which can lead to accidental smothering. As long as you watch them and don't leave them alone with the child, then the baby will be fine. We are being sure to keep the cats away from our daughter once she is born, only when we sleep at night. Just being extra cautious!  :)

I'm a certified vet tech and I've never heard any clients complain of this, nor did I hear anything about it in school. Cats are stinkers though. I have 2 cats so I hope this isn't true lol

Cats are known to smoother babies on accident because of the breast milk. You just have to keep your cat away is all. My parents had cats will all of us but bam bam and they were trained not to come near us pretty fast
